Default The Evolution of Adventure Games Beyootch

I was wondering, will ag.com change their definition of an adventure game since more and more adventures these days contain more action, like fighting?

No. We'll just get a gradually increasing amount of eloquently written reviews from Jack expounding on - in microscopic detail - the badly designed control interfaces.

This isn't really new. There will always be games pushing outer edges of any understanding of adventure, whether it's towards action, puzzles, pure story, etc., or something entirely new. So we don't really have a "definition" so much as a collection of ideas that need to remain somewhat flexible. Not so flexible as to become meaningless, but flexible enough not to shy away from the more borderline titles.

I'm not convinced we'll get that many, either. Sure, we've had Fahrenheit, Dreamfall, and Da Vinci Code since September, but before then, what? And what's following in their footsteps?
