Telltale Gamers? Shared staff announcement
In keeping with the spirit of Bone Week, it's time to make a staff announcement that impacts both Adventure Gamers and Telltale Games.
For several months now, AG's own Webmaster Doug Tabacco has been moonlighting for Telltale as a part-time Web Developer, doing much of the same technical wizardry he does for us. More recently, Jake Rodkin and Emily Morganti have also joined Telltale on a full-time basis. Jake's title is Content and Community Coordinator, which we're pretty sure is the most alliterative job title ever invented, even if we're clearly clueless and confused about what it conceivably covers. Emily is Telltale's new Web Marketing Coordinator, because apparently she's a great communicator and knows lots of things about the online adventure community - who knew?! And as if that weren't enough, still to come is a summer internship at Telltale for AG's latest addition, Deirdra Kiai. So first of all, I offer a hearty congratulations to all four of you, and of course agree that Telltale has hired the best people for the jobs!* Of course, this raises the question of whether AG can maintain objectivity where Telltale is concerned, and whether these employees are capable of objectivity where Telltale is not concerned. Rest assured that we take this issue very seriously, and will make every effort to ensure that our editorial integrity remains intact. The only role that potentially impacts site issues is Emily's, so she will no longer review any new games for AG - not only Telltale's, but any at all, as that would put her in the unenviable task of critiquing products by a "competitor". Fortunately for us, she will continue to contribute Flashback Friday reviews and interesting feature content that creates no conflict of interest. All other editorial considerations are handled independently of these crossover employees, so nothing else is at all affected by these changes. For us, then, it's a bit of an adjustment, but for our readers, it's pretty much business as usual. If not for this announcement, it's unlikely anyone would even notice, but we didn't want to give the impression we have anything to hide, so we're laying our cards on the table for all to see.** Congrats again to the four deserving AGers, and we're looking forward to even better things from Telltale as the result of your contributions. *Note to self: start charging headhunting fee for talent recruitment. |

This means I get to sit back, drink lattes, and be extremely critical of every review the site publishes, right? Quote:

Whee!
Oh, and by the way, it's "Deirdra", not "Dierdra". Remember all that "I before E except after a C" stuff they taught you in elementary school? Forget all of it. |

Sorry, I was too busy reciting the "I before AND after A" rule for the last name that distracted me.

Now this I respect. I hate sites that are biased and its nice to know this isn't one of them.
