Default Delayed Emails from this Site

In the forums here I'm signed up to receive instant email updates for certain threads. It's always worked fine, until just a few days ago I started receiving delayed emails. Like the email would be sent out from this site instantly (I can see the date on the email), but then it wouldn't appear in my Gmail box until a day or two later. Anybody else experiencing this? It seems to only be happening with this particular forum.

There was an issue with the server yesterday, it's been sending out delayed email all day after Doug gave it a kick.

So is this going to be fixed or has it already been?

I'm going crazy without my immediate email updates. Sorry if I sound like a nag.

Hmm. Well Doug did restart the server to try and resolve it. However, I've just sent myself email again and it's not arrived yet.

I've been receiving emails, but they are for posts made a day or two ago.

From reading through the qmail remote queue, it looks like a massive spam flood started to bury the server as it tried to send error messages to unreachable smtp servers. So, I took some extra steps to block those messages in the first place and then flushed the queue of 600+ error messages waiting to send.

Why is there not a good replacement for SMTP yet?

It takes one or two days before I'm notified in email of private messages.

That was happening with me too. It was better in the past couple of days but now it's started again.
