I have a question about the guest here can the guest view your profile or no.

Yes they can. They just have to click on your name.

They just can't post in or start new threads. They can't private message you either.

This is one of the reasons email addresses are not displayed in the profile. Since guests can view the profile, this prevents your email address from being harvested by spammers. ;)

Nobody can view your private messages except you (and the server admin, which is me).

Guests are also only allowed to send messages vis the E-mail links if they can identify the text in an image, to prevent spam.

I don`t but I know some fourm do if you look in the View who is Online and if you click on one that is say it Viewing Private Messages and then you know they are looking in your pm.

"Viewing Private MEssages" doesn't mean they are looking in YOUR private messages. It means they're trying to view the private message page and are seeing an error message because they're not logged in.

Oh, okay. I see what you're getting at.

Yeah, sometimes the spiders try to send or read private messages. The stop sign means they're getting a message that says they don't have permission to do that.

Bots don't put anything on the forums (I believe I'm right in that). When you search on Google and you get a forum page as a result, I think that registers as a bot on the 'who's online' page. No porn involved. :)

No. The bots you're seeing index the site for companies like google, yahoo, etc. They don't post messages, they don't read private messages, and they don't basically do anything.
