Announcing: The Future of Adventure Games Week
Frequent visitors of AG should know by now that we usually get a little crazy around December. This year is no different. I've been quietly making preparations for this year's December feature for some time, and it's with great pleasure that I can announce it now.
The Future of Adventure Games Week will kick off on December 19. Yours truly, along with three of the staff writers, will provide perspectives on this issue from many different angles. We've prepared a truly magnificent series of articles that you can't afford to miss. Further information, including a day-by-day schedule, will be posted here next week! |

NOT if emma and I have anything to do with it, buster.*
Looking forward to the future with you and my fellow gamers, Marek. *I've decided to become more vigilant about members being nasty to each other, if emma's gonna be the mother hen, I'm the guardian rooster.

Hmm..
I'll be looking forward to this as well. Especially since this is my first time experiencing an AdventureGamers Special Event. And also because it'll be interesting to see what professional Adventure Gaming journalists think of this issue.Just be sure to include an Open-Ended point of view too... I just hope there won't be an exposé of my "small prick."

If the other articles are anything like Marek's (which I might have seen some of already) there will definitely be some discussion in the forums about it. Hopefully it's more discussion and just a little less bitch slapping

Is this article related to The Longest Journey 2? Maybe this is the hint. I'm looking forward to seeing what you have got.

TLJ2 will somehow be involved in our Future of Adventure Games week...and I think everyone will be fairly excited when that time comes.
We've scheduled a total of five articles, one of which is a very substantial essay that has been broken into four component, plus a little surprise or two. More will be leaked as the days pass. - Evan

Delightful! Can't wait. Is this going to be more prophetic or previewing... or both... or none for that matter? Ok, ok I stop. Looking forward to it.

Here's the official schedule. I'm still working on solidifying a few things, most importantly the article that's going to be posted on Dec 24. However, this tentative schedule should show you the scope of the Future of Adventure Games Week (which is technically a 12-day feature, but we'll call it a week for the sake of simplicity )
The whole thing starts off with my main article. It will be posted in four parts because it's really quite big. After that we'll present five more articles that zoom in on various related issues. [edit: the full schedule has now been posted here] To answer Wajus' question: while the meat of FoaG is the editorials you see outlined above, there will definitely be some preview/interview material as well. Stay tuned. So, does this whet your appetite? I really can't hype this enough. It's going to be great! |

Very exciting indeed.
Do I take it that Mr.Ernest Adams will be talking about Adventure Game design and not just Game Design in general ? Anyways,do you plan to advertise this feature on other gaming sites ? From the looks of things...this is going to be big.

For those wondering what our Christmas gift will be, there is a clue elsewhere on the Internet...won't say anymore than that, although the word "blog" comes to mind....
