the Navy ad just did one of those spill-over things where the ad bleeds over the forum - did you know about that kind of thing?

Site owners need to do what they need to do. Personally, the simple experimentation with such ads bodes well for AG. As long as there is follow-through.

I use a lot of restraint in deploying banner ads on AG. They are there for a reason, however, and I hope people understand that not everything comes for free.

If anyone still sees any popups or popunders (unlikely, but possible I guess) please PM me with the website that it linked to. Thanks.

I hate those kinds of ads. But at least if you take the mouse away, it rolls back. The worst ones are at Gamespot and other places, where there are all kinds of animation and you have to find the tiny "x" in order to close it.

Yeah, I hate those in particular. Sometimes I can't even find the goddamn X, so I just refresh the page.

I mostly just leave and never return. There's a newspaper site I used to visit which suddently had those annoying Flash banners that covered the text I was trying to read. Without a possibility to close it. Very annoying.

You'd hope advertisers would focus more on making good ads instead of coming up with new ways to hijack websites. I think the web could use more memorable ad campaigns.

Absolut Vodka ran some really good ads on sites like The Onion and Salon for a while. They were actually little games that ended with the bottle shape being formed. Great stuff. More ads like those please!

I've never seen a pop-up ad on this site before. And the banner ads don't bother me at all.
