Ah I see, I bet you're one of those kind mechanics who does a lot of free jobs for kind old ladies and sick people, right? Well, you're still rich in my eyes, just because you have a car and apartment, while I have a 15 speed and one half of a dorm. Bastard!

Hmm. I hate to be a party pooper in the middle of a crowd of romantics, but IMHO the right answer to "When should I get married?" is "Whenever you're ready for it."

And more IMHO, if you look at your girlfriend and consider marrying her, and instead of thinking "Yeah, I'd be so happy with her as my wife," you're thinking, "OK, what can I do to ensure she wouldn't leave with all my stuff," then I have a hunch you're not ready to get married.

Note: That's not to say it's not worth thinking about... even something that seems like the most perfect situation ever can sometimes go south. But if it's bothering you this much, that doesn't seem like a good omen to me.

Peace & Luv, Liz

Looks like the "lets be friends" with ex-wifey crap is taking a back seat. She finally peeved me, so I'm taking the initiative and putting an end to that.

Anyway, am I now happy(not because of this but in general since creating this thread)? I'm probably much better off than I was. I'm getting there, anyway.

Ha, I don't have such problems.

Seriously though, hope you get better. Loneliness is sometimes good for you, if you don't spend all your time wallowing in self-pity. Your time will come. And in the meantime, play some games.

And read some Edison Hate Future (link stolen from Ragnar's blog).

Play more games? I wish I had the money.

And my lonelyness is a bit of a complex situation... Not as simple as it sounds.

Lonliness can be unbearable but at times it can be a time of reflection.

Here are some thoughts on solitude.

I've been stuck for a while. No job, no new people, no challenges. It didn't depress me or anything, but I wasn't really happy either. Fortunately I found a new job two months ago, and I'm enjoying life a little more now.

Not necessarily, but being alone isn't necessarily a bad thing either. If you feel like sharing your problems, there is probably at least one person here who's been through the same thing, and who might have some insight or advice to give you that might help you out a little.

Man, I hate loneliness. I feel like I've lonely for so long in my youth that there's nothing left I feel like reflecting upon except for my own misery, when I'm lonely.

I'm extremely happy with my life right now. The only thing that dampens my enjoyment of life at the moment is the fact that it's all going to end in less than a year, when I receive my master's degree. I've been happy all my life, but I've never been so happy as the last couple of years, and I fear I will never be so happy again, which is quite a scary thought .

Also, I have a very hard time understanding people who are unhappy all the time but, in my eyes, simply have no reason to, like my sister. Life is full of exciting and fun things, if only you look hard enough. But my sister just settles in her misery and does nothing about it, and refuses to adopt a more optimistic life view. And to say I've been through a LOT more misery (physical especially) in my life than my sister, yet I'm the happy one.

I know what it's like to be lonely myself... been that way almost my entire life.

In any case, I'm almost about to be replaced at my job. That would make most people sad, I'm guessing, but I've grown to hate my job so I'm pleased about it.

Hopefully I can then take a bit of time off to get all the things done that I've been too busy having my soul sucked out by my job to do, so I can then look for a new job with a clean slate. It won't really make me happy per se, but it'll take a lot of stress off me. Well, provided I don't then get stuck taking months to find a new job, that is.

Peace & Luv, Liz
