Then you obviously haven't seen any good ones. So far I've seen two. "The Lion King" (the visit to which I got for my Birthday. I was always a fan of the movie, and the musical was as great, if not even better.), and "Buddy" which is about the life and death of Buddy Holly. Oh, and "Tabaluga und Lilly", which is a rock-musical by Peter Maffay, about the Dragon Tabaluga, and Lilly, who is a bit more difficult to explain.

Next I want to see "Tanz der Vampire" ("Dance of the Vampires". NOT the Broadway production, which butchered the original and turned it into a cheap comedy).

There are plenty of good musicals, including some obscure ones. Sure, they're often a little cheesy with sugar-coated lyrics and neat and tidy happy endings, but that's part of the fun! That and not all musicals are like that anyway...

I've seen Les Miserables which I enjoyed, but generally I'd rather watch a play instead of having all the annoying singing that musicals contain.
