*Not quite true. The Oxford English Dictionary has it as one form of the word "gillyflower". |

^Knows full well that "gilver" is an old term meaning "to ache or throb painfully", and is probably the only word that really rhymes with "silver".
Seriously, how could anyone let this word become obsolete? Quote:

i live in the U.S. state of pennsylvania, and it was one of the original 13 colonies and it is a bit of a cultural melting pot and everyone here talks a little weird...........we tend to have shortened versions of words that may not make much sence to others (kind of like text message talk) we even have a name for this local dialect "pisttsburghese" (named after our downtown city) and i try to speak in proper english on line............but sometimes i slip

Oh, I wasn't referring to you using "who's" instead of "whose". I was actually referring to Panthera and Robsie using them in their posts. Especially Robsie, who is basically my Apprentice Grammar Nazi should know that it's supposed to be "whose". I was merely using my power as Loony Empress Jazhara of the World by giving you the right to punish them (with evil stares), and thus helping me to enforce my laws. I am sorry if it came across as me criticising your english. I really didn't mean it that way. -
