Seems to be like Heros/Heroes. American/English spelling. I usually prefer the English spelling because I like the oe-combo, but I'm so used to 'typos' that the other seems wrong. Ish.

I will never understand how some people can mix "your" and "you're", it's so obvious even for someone who has a different native language

I guess the majority defines it, in this case. So "typoes", even if I prefer it, and it seems more right to me, and might have it's validity as explained (paticularily with what you just said), may just have to be considered incorrect.

Wow, this is an oddly informative topic.

Are they the chewy sweets that you can't buy in the UK? I keep grabbing packets of these chewy sweet things every time I go abroad.

Yeah. Tell me, when you buy these and walk along and cause a twelve-car pile up on the road and when everybody's looking at you angrily and you show them you were eating a Mentos and they forgive you... wait, this isn't even a question. Carry on.

php, definitely, not so sure about the C (++ or otherwise) standard function libraries, though. Sorry.

Mentos! Yes, that's exactly the phenomenom.

...now I want some. *meanders into the kitchen*

In fact, now that I'm thinking about it, I'm just cutting the french word (position), which is pronounced with a clear "oes". So I guess you're right and I'm wrong.

Ooh. Who's the second person that voted "typoes"? Come out and admit it!

My copy of The New Shorter Oxford English Dictionary, as well as Chambers, tells me that only "typos" is acceptable. So, given that I have now found precisely no dictionaries prepared to accept "typoes", can we lay this matter to rest?

You may be right, but, you see, I'm one of those weirdoes who never let go...
