I'd really like to see Match Point, but even more than that, I'd love to see Scoop

Pulp Fiction
I'm really not sure what I make of this film. I liked it more than Reservoir Dogs, but that doesn't really say much for it, nevertheless...

Yes, it's very stupid. Not the worst I've seen, but pretty damn stupid.

I'm torn about Pulp Fiction. I don't really like Quentin Tarantino as a director but it's hard to fault Pulp Fiction.

The Godfather trilogy - the first movie is my favorite of the series. The second one is really good, too, but it's missing something the first had. The third one...well, something went wrong with it. I liked how Copolla handled the mafia setting, unlike the way Martin Scorcese did with Goodfellas and Casino.
Scarface - a well made movie. I think I saw it in a different light than what other people do, but that's only based on hearing about it on MTV's Cribs. It seems like a lot of people see it as some badass gangster film, but I thought it was a sad story about a guy. Battlefield Earth - funny, but probably not in an intended way. Ultraviolet - I had heard about it being bad, but I didn't think it would be this bad. On par or below an Uwe Boll movie. |

Fitzcarraldo - the second Werner Herzog film I've seen. It didn't really capture my interest too much.

I have to confess a sin: yesterday I watched The Omen 666. I quite enjoyed my popcorn.

I saw V for Vendetta. Just an incredible movie, the first of the Alan Moore related films that is in every way totally awesome.

Cold Mountain
Hmm. Good, and yet also strange. The actual connecting plot never really went anywhere (perhaps I was expecting too much in this respect), so it's a good thing that the mini-stories within it were good. I can understand people complaining about the huge number of star cameos, meanwhile. |

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
They where rather average actually, especially Connery. There are so few actors in the world who don't look total fools in green screen heavy movies. Even the greats suffer for it. With so many characters each with their standard comic book fare origin stories I just can't see why someone thought it would be possible to trim it all down to anything close to a single satisfying movie plot. Roy Scheider in "2010" is next on my list, but first I must finish season one of Rome. |
