Right now, it's leftover trash food from when friends stopped by: potato chips, peanuts, coke zero.

I am glad that in Seattle I can get wild, troll-caught King salmon (no need for copper river) at a decent price at this time of the year and so I have it often, baked with olive oil, butter, with some herb de provence and some raw veggies for a nice and easy summer dinner.

Same here, except it's almonds instead of peanuts and coffee instead of Coke Zero.

What say you and I join forces and go on a quest for some proper food? Some home-made pirogis, perhaps?

I just had some dark chocolate and a cup of green tea to sooth a certain anxiety of having to start work tomorrow after an almost nine week long summer vacation.

I know, I know there's no reason to pity me.

Trolls catch and sell wild salmon out there? I guess that's logical since they're hanging around under bridges all day anyway.

Yes, but they need to abide by the same limits as everyone else...

Shame on me for forgetting all about the Russian version of piroška!

As far as ethnic pastries go, I think breakfast might be the ultra greasy burek, which is a stack of alternating thin dough and pig grease and cottage cheese, all baked together in the oven. Worthless without a side of yogurt.

My Mom, Dad, Grandmother, and I all ate lunch together, around 1p.m. today.

We ate a Salad of Cucumbers, tomatos, and Avocado's together. Followed by Crackers, and Bleu Cheese, Salmon, and Salami. They had Iced Coffee, and I had a Diet Pepsi with Lime (Which is my all-time favorite Diet Soda.)

It was a great lunch, and we finished about 1:30.

I just had the most wonderful ground lamb burgers with oven roasted potatoes and chanterelle sauce. To go with it a chilled white wine. *sighs dreamy*
Mr J is such a great chef, although not professional.

Monday my stepdad cooked a huge dinner of home-made cabbage rolls (ground beef, Italian sausage, rice, and secret spices he refuses to divulge wrapped in cabbage leaves and cooked in a tomato-based sauce), pinto beans, macaroni & cheese, and cornbread. Yum!
All the leftovers got sent home with me Monday night, so of course the leftovers were all gone by Wednesday night.

This thread needs a resurrection!

Today we had an Easter dinner smorgasboard (yep, it works each and every holiday): Smoked salmon, eggs with caviar, herring, meatballs made from ground lamb, shrimp and avocado salad, chicken, potato salad and olives.

And now I'm sipping a glass of red wine.
Life is good!

That's an adorable smilie, Jelena!

Well, I'm eating some Sunshine Cafe crackers, really good, and tonight they're going to have chocolate cream pie in the dining hall! I'm so excited!
