Default Have you ever been insulted by a video game?

Up until recently most video games did not insult me personally, until I got to read about this game: "Close Combat: First to Fight"

Why am I insulted by it? Because it takes place in my lovely Beirut, in which American Marines are shooting down Lebanese people and "fictitious insurgents" left and right. It's amazing how it stereotypes the whole lebanese people as wearing turbans, or hats on their heads. They didn't even bother taking time to see what Lebanon looks like, so none of the locales in the pictures look familiar to me.
Also take a look at this
Do you see the writings in Arabic? It does not mean anything. It's like me making a game in english and writing there XUNJDSHFLSJ on the building.

How about you, have you ever been insulted by a video game?

I feel the same way about all GTA games, actually most games in general, it offends me that games are realistic.

So? Are Lebanese people not allowed to be shot? I can't think of one nationality that is excluded from being shot in a game. If it hadn't been Lebanese, then it would have had to of been some other nationality, and they would be saying the same thing. In the end, it's just a damn game.

The American marines are 'defending America' in the game. Let's roll.

No I want to shoot them too, but why are they all wearing turbans, like Lebanon is this big terrorist place? It's really tasteless, especially that the events are current, not something from WW2.

I think what he's trying to say is, the game portrays ALL Lebanese as 'insurgents' and 'terrorists', so it's okay to 'shoot them'.

Imagine the controversy if a game was released of resistent fighters shooting US marines while defending their family and homes....

Woah woah woah. First of all, I doubt it has the Marines going to every building and house to fight turban wearing terrorists. If that's the case, then i'm with ya on this. But if they have every single enemy wearing a turban, then so what? It's not show Joe Schmo Lebanese guy picking up a gun and turban and shooting at people.

I just now looked the game up. That's funny...in all the screen shots, I didn't see one turban! For example:

So out of all of those pictures, 2 guys were wearing turbans. Unless Lebanon has a population of two dudes, what you say isn't true. As for "hats," yes, they're all wearing hats, and if that's offensive to you, then that's just weird. Not to mention that most armies, no matter where they're from, wear some type of head gear.

Yes, because US marines are a constant threat to civilians and their property.

Soccerdude, you still haven't shown that the game you're talking about does anything that you should be insulted over.
