Ah well. I did say Steve Buscemi is hot.
Okay, Squaresie. You get an "ooh". Be happy. *edit*: Kolzig, (I've been meaning to post this, but keep forgetting) - your picture cracks me up big time everytime I look at it, I actually saved it into my comp.

That's an awesome picture. You look really happy. Happy like a small girl (which is a good thing) EDIT: Mmmmh...you've got Lion King, Shrek...have you also got "Atlantis - The Lost Empire"? -

I've never been so disappointed with an animation before. Atlantis had so much promise, yet was so bad... like how they glossed over the deaths of the sailors in a matter of seconds... I've got the artbook. Mignola of Hellboy did a lot of the design work, so it's even more depressing that the film ended up the way it did.

Originally they intended to add a lot more stuff to the movie...but then somebody said: "Guys, remember the movie has to be about 80-90 minutes long." I guess they were not excited either. Originally the scene where they honour the dead was not in either. They were supposed to be attacked by the ferocious Squid-Bats (yes, Squid-Bats), when having emerged from the "U-Bend". Then they would run into the Tunnel-Beast (which is still seen, when they accidentally take the wrong path, but this doesn't take too long). Then they realized that that wouldn't leave the audience time to breathe, and make a pretty boring movie. So they instead made the scene with the honouring of the dead (and think about it...It's *Rourke* who commands them to move on. It's the kind of thing you expect from Rourke.) -

Nope... it's still pants... You've noted the main problem - they rush through the entire story with nary a breath. It's just simply not a great movie and unfortunately ended up being another nail in the coffin of Disney's 2D animation unit.
Don't get me wrong - great design work, nice animation if some dodgy use of CGI. But it makes even Sinbad look good. Actually, Sinbad wasn't all that bad - if only for Pfeiffer's characters beautiful animation! But Atlantis coupled with Treasure Planet did not a good combination make.

It's still my favourite Disney movie (along with Lion King and Mulan). If only for Vinny ("Paperclips. Big ones.") Audrey (and the following expression) and the most awesome villain ever. Watch him over the course of the movie. At the beginning he is calm and normal, but the more the movie progresses, the more insane he gets. This is not only shown in his way of acting, but also in the expression of his face. It's incredible! I think the characters are what make it so awesome. They are all so different, and alln so great. (Did you see that Moliére ["Mole"] has a Plush Mole? And his pyjamas are in the colours of the french flag!) I still think the movie is great. (It's just not really a movie for kids.) When I first saw the movie, I didn't find it all that great either. But later I began to love it. I think it was similar with LOOM. At first I just played it, and it was a good game, but nothing else. But then I realized how great it is. -

Suddenly I noticed there was a webcam sitting on my monitor... staring.
So I stared back. |
