Thanks. Sorry for this late reply; I thought I'd spend more time here but obviously other stuff came up. I'm happy to say that the situation has improved, though is still a ways from being back to normal. Suffice to say we're working on it but there are still rough days sometimes.

Good to hear that the situation has improved atleast. There will always be tough days, but hopefully you can work through them!

As for me, looking like I always do. Red hair and.. yeah.

Ooh, that stuff scares me. Although I might get it eventually. Are you happy with the results? I hear one's eyes can become more sensitive to light, like you'd get a lot of glare or something. Also, did they do one at a time, so they wouldn't risk blinding you if something went wrong on the first? Maybe I'll just wait for that stem-cell permanent contact lens technology, as opposed to shaving anything off..

Nope, both eyes at once, and no complications. Did have to wear sunglasses a lot and keep eyedrops handy for the first year or so, though.

So.. what are the chances of you ever needing glasses again?

When she approaches 50 I'd say near 100%.

I started at 30 but when I received a paper cut in my eye it got better. I have been wearing reading glasses since 40 though.

Ouch! Yikes... The last damage I had in my eye was another person's sleeve. That was sometime like october and the mark is still there... I wouldn't want to even think about paper cuts, I'm neurotic enough when it comes to something happening to eyes.

Sounds about right -- well, reading glasses, anyway.

Anyway, speaking of which, I did buy new sunglasses over the weekend; check 'em out!

There's something vaguely heartwarming about a spammer who says "hello dear".

They look good on you Jelsie!
I'm glad the 'rectangular glasses trend' of the past ten years is over.
And Jaffa looks as if she has never seen a camera before .

Thanks both of you. I had a hard time not choosing the rectangular style, being a bit afraid to try something new. In the end my children convinced this pair was right for me.
