He was a clothing designer, I believe?
My major art is inside my animations nowadays. Here's my latest animation. Idle T folk may skip over it, they've alread seen it. Birth of a Clown (50 MB) Warning: Disturbing clowns have been known to scar people for life.

What I tend to notice is that a lot of graphic clothing design share the same 'look'. They have this typical way of drawing very long, almost cubistic characters with nigh alien features and expressions. That is, it was so in most of that art I've seen up until now. Can you confirm or refute,Trep?

There is a desire in high fashion for stylistic exaggeration, often fantastic in effect, and abstract in scope. A style illustrator using very realistic representations will not last long - that is, unless they work for a very commercial company like, say, one that makes uniforms or commercial patterns for home sewers. I find commercial illustration like this to be boring and stifling for my creativity, and I could never see a career in it for me. Here's an example of it.
Check out some of these 'high' fashion illustrators: Mats Gustafson portrait of model Linda Evangelista. Left - Illustration by David Downton. Right - trousers by Helmut Lang. A very free, very 'editorial' style of illustration is supposed to capture more the mood and atmosphere of the clothes in order to feed the fantasies of the viewer. I much preferred working in this style because it was far closer to being pure art than technical, commercial illustration ever could. Here's another one I did, several years ago (which I featured in this thread): Click for large.

Everyone here is so good! Highly individual in their style. Don't ever contain it, people, it's a great gift. Share it with the world.

Well, in that case.
BTW, Trep, awesome artwork. As you can clearly see, I can't draw humans, so that leaves me with one question only: How much to hire you to draw my characters? *g*

Just a little bit of fooling around I did this afternoon. Anica is a girl I like and today she told me she likes this guy who lives in Zagreb, on the Eugen Kvaternik Square. So I fired up my GIMP and did a silly thing. Definitely not art, not even that funny now that I look at it, but there you go.
