D&D insult fighting?

i am a dork....and i'm not affriad to come out with it. my buddies and i play D&D all the time....but we kinda bend the rules...we tend to throw in instult fighting at times....it's realy fun..

so, i'm guna see if we could do that here....

ok i'll start....

your in a small dungen...the walls are moldy and cold...as you walk threw you here a larg moan....you continue down into the dungen and come across a giant troll....he wips out his sword and says....."you fight like a cow"...............you then pull out you sword and respond with.....? (post somthing)

the troll dodges your atack and prepares for an other attack...but you have the upper hand you say......

Sword fighting would be a cool D&D mechanism.

..but only if you everyone would make up insult responses, and they could make up a good one, and then whine when the DM says "thats not the right comeback!"

Plus, you wouldn't gain comebacks when losing to baddies that nail you with a good insult..

..cos in D&D, when you lose, you die!

I am still bitter, from when Back in Highschool, I got shot by two arrows by the kobolds in the opening level of the D&D starter edition, and that ruled me out of compaigns for the whole term!!

(if you changed the roleplaying so the baddies didn't kill you, then I think its an awesome idea! )

i think you should get a +1 circumstance bonus to your attack roll for answering an insult correctly
