Hmmm...It seems the upside of a station like Radio 1 would be that if something you like comes on at 7pm on Thursday night, you could listen to it whether you're in Torquay (sp?) or Yorkshire. Not so with NPR-affiliated stations.

Scott, at least, you can listen to WNYC on line while you are web surfing. I'm doing that right now.

I will look into that later, but right now my attention span is about that (snap fingers) long because I'm going on vacation Saturday and can hardly wait to leave.
I went from Nine Inch Nails to Smashing Pumpkins, and for now it's on to The Violent Femmes "Greatest Hits"...or something else. The voice in my head keeps suggesting The Eagles, but their mellowness would just get on my nerves right now.
Maybe a little Hendrix...

Btw, Scott, seeing how you like Smashing Pumpkins, you should probably check out Mew, especially Frengers, their first international album.

np: Mew - SheSpider

Wow! The Violent Femmes! I can't believe there's someone else who likes them

At my local rock club "Add it up" is played constantly and that's one of my all-time favourite songs!

"Blister In the Sun", "Good Feelings"and "Kiss Off" are cool too

Radio 1 is the best station in the UK, especially if you want to listen to new music, and the majority of the DJs are pretty cool too

I do believe that it can be heard in America either online or on Digital radio?

On June 30th, the Femmes will be playing a free show at 4th Street Live, in Louisville, Kentucky.

They played the first show when the place opened last year.

Actually, the "Greatest Hits" album I referred to is called "Add It Up (1981-1993)". It was in my CD drive at the time and I don't have the insert that originally came with the CD. My favorite songs are "Gone Daddy Gone", "Country Death Song", "Jesus Walking On The Water", "36-24-36", "I Held Her In My Arms", "Lies", and "Out The Window".
It sounds like you and I have much the same eclectic taste in music...cool, huh?

Right now going back and forth between Def Leppard - Rock of Ages collection and Pray for the SOul of Betty. (My aunt bought this cause that Constantine guy from American Idol is in this band, but she didn't like it cause it's too heavy. So I wound up with a copy of it, and have found it fairly enjoyable.)

Also waiting till Tuesday for the next Foo FIghter album.
