Well, it wouldn't be Christmas if someone didn't own up to listening to Fairytale of New York

In the meantime, I've been listening to a few Christmas-themed favorites:

Willie Nelson- Pretty Paper

The Eagles- Please Come Home For Christmas

...and of course...

Elvis Presley- Blue Christmas

Elton John - Step Into Christmas

I know, I should be going around saying "bah humbug," but I feel oddly festive at the moment.

This is the first time I'll actually be giving something, even though I'm unemployed, and it feels... different. Every christmas I was anticipating what I was gonna get until I got bored when I was 15 and ever since christmas was just a "get what I need, like one of those mach 3 gilettes lawl" day. Now it feels different, for better. Well.

Over-the-top festivity is the new "bah humbug".

Meat Loaf - Life Is A Lemon And I Want My Money Back

I shouldn't like Meat Loaf. I really shouldn't.

Gather your party

With the voice of the guy saying that annoying sentence "You must gather your party before venturing forth" in Baldur's Gate I and II.

Sometimes he says "You must party" in the song.

Margaret Berger - Robot Song

Seriously, pop songs don't get much better than this.

I've just started getting into jazz:

Miles Davis - The Complete In a Silent Way Sessions
- The Complete Bitches Brew Sessions
- Kind of Blue (with the Flamenco Sketches alternate take)
John Coltrane - A Love Supreme (2 disc)

I don't suppose anyone here knows jazz and can recommend some good stuff?

First, you must tell no-one that I admitted to knowing anything about jazz.

That being said, if you like Miles Davis then Sketches Of Spain and Birth Of The Blue (I think that's the title) are must-listen albums.

Also, Dave Brubeck did a lot of really great stuff.

...but you didn't hear that from me.
