What? It's a brilliantly absurd video, and the song is even odder if you here the full studio album version. It's got a few more bits that are even odder when put with the whole. I may have to send you some email.

And besides, how can you resist an army of cat-headed people in suits singing as a choir, and a string section made up of nude women with cat heads carefully seated behind cellos? It's almost Daliesque.

*smiles* That sounds nice. I haven't heard that piece in a while. *hugs*

By FAAAR Canada's most awesome music export (right next to Céline Dion ) - The reasons

How the past chews on your shoes, and these memories lick my ear. How we waste our precious time marching in the picket lines that surround those striking hearts. How the time is never now, and we know who we should love, but we're never certain how. I know you might roll your eyes at this, but I'm so glad that you exist. John K. rocks my socks.

Surely Canada's most awesome music export must be The Caliban Quartet? (Of bassoonists. They're absolutely one of the world's best bassoon quartets.) But The Canadian Brass aren't far behind, either. I rank both groups ahead of Celine, and even more so ahead of this group.

Heheh, that's how it is with music, but, my excuses, my enthusiasm has that habit to go a bit over the top with things that it truly enjoys. John K. Samson's lyrics are a blessing and, dare I say indeed pretty darn lyrical. And beautiful...

Santana feat. Musiq - Nothing at All

Listening to the video on Yahoo Launch (nice site). This is one amazing song. From what I have heard so far of the Shaman album, it's one of the best.

Yahoo Launch is a great concept. If only they'd improve the technology to not require Windows, IE and Windows Media Player. They use Flash anyway, so if they'd make it all Flash-based, then they'd have a great site. As it is, I can't access it at all. I've looked for something similar, but it doesn't appear to exist.

Yeah, it does have its problems... And of course you need a Yahoo account, but that's not much

And some videos aren't accessible here...

Wyclef Jean - President

Still on Launch, funny enough since you'll probably never see that video on TV... Oh well, they didn't even have Wyclef's two latest CDs in Finland either, so it might not be that much a surprise after all...

^No idea.

The Weakerthans - Psalm for the elks lodge last call
Let the waitress put the chairs up, let the glasses that she broke form a picture of our leader with a halo made of smoke. Let the Golden oldies station crackle and come through with a final benediction we'll hum along to, before we say goodnight. Let our talk about the ballgame and the weather show we care, like a sound we didn't notice until it stopped and left us there with the traffic and our heartbeats beating in straight line. Let our hatred and affection march in the same line, before we say goodnight.

Mmmmhhhhhh.
