Enya - May It Be

I've gotten into my LotR soundtracks again... I just can't get enough of May It Be. It is such an amazing song.

I'll be playing Stevie Wonder's Sir Duke tomorrow afternoon, on the steps of Stockholm's Concert Hall. Other music will include Offenbach's Can Can, We Will Rock You (Brian May) and some Abba. I'm looking at the scores now, preparing. I've not conducted all the music before.

Trumgottist. I promise if I'm in the audience I'll let you know.

The real Concert (SLB 100 years) is inside at 16:00. We (Ekerö Kulturskola) play between 15.00 and 15.45. I'll be in charge of two wind bands playing on the steps, while guitars and strings play inside. Let's just hope for fine - and not too cold - weather!

I really, really would love to go to Sthlm and be there but as I said, I've got plans already. Break a leg though and as long as it's not raining you'll be fine. Or perhaps cold weather will ruin it for you as it does for us singers. (The vocal chords get numb and the voice disappears.)

I always thought you worked on Gotland. Now I realize it's on Ekerö.

It was Gotland for a year and a half, but it was temporary (child birth). So is this one. I'll be here for a year (I'm filling in for a "friår").

Interesting! What are you going to do during this year "off-work"?

No, I'm working here because a teacher got a year off work. (Filling in, not filing in.)

Frank Sinatra - The Lady is a Tramp

A song that fits me perfectly, except I don't hate California.

The Cheeks - Vivienne Westwood. Germany's The Byrds, so to speak, except that these guys are from present times. Yeah, they don't knock you off your feet, but who can resist the mighty Hammond organ?

Sparks - Dick Around

It took them as long as I've been alive, but they may just have written my theme song here.

That music video... with those cats...

EDIT: Oh, and I'm listening to Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue right now. I played it with the West Vancouver Youth Band back in high school. It's making me sentimental.
