How are you liking "Sweet Oblivion" Scott?
It is a great album, but imo "Dust" is their best ever!

Halo of Ashes
All I Know
Look At You
Dying Days

..... pretty much the whole album is mindblowing!

All I can say to you is - BUY IT!

I am sure you won't be disappointed

I'm liking "Sweet Oblivion" quite a lot, and wouldn't hesitate to buy another Screaming Trees album. My favorite song of theirs is "Darkness Darkness", but I've only seen it on the "True Lies" movie soundtrack. Do you know if that song appears on any other albums?

I just decided to listen through my entire Playlist (which I have never done before...I kind of inherited from my sister, and only a few I added), come what may. It's 193 (I think somewhere in there is also the spoof song "Always the first to die", and some things like that. They are fun.) songs, so that is gonna take some time.

Right now I am listening to the second song:

Track 3: Ace of Base - The Juvenile.

I find I really like it.

After that, I'll probably listen to my favourite Loreena McKennitt album. "The Book of Secrets"

Dust is one of the best albums ever created, period. Love the Doors-esque organ soloing.

Tiger Tunes - Kirsten is a ****machine

How can you not like a song that starts with a line "She ****s like a regular ****machine"?

I haven't listened to a whole album, from start to finish, in order, in quite some time. I keep the iPod on shuffle & just skip a song or two until I come across one I want to hear. Right now Take Your Mama Out by Scissor Sisters is playing.

I need to make more Playlists. Scrolling through thousands of songs is getting old.

Anyway, as for what I'm currently listening to:

Tetra-Sync by Squarepusher (from the Ultravisitor album)

Have you listened to their last two albums? The Middle Of Nowhere is the last one I've heard and these new ones are supposedly not as good. The only song I know from their last one is One Perfect Sunrise and it's not that bad so I'm curious.

np: The Vector Warrior - Raul (try this one, I think you might like it)

Orbital are one of my faves. I have all their stuff except for the 'Work' album, which was just a best-of with a couple of new tracks.

The album after Middle of Nowhere (The Altogether) was absolute pants - far and away the worst thing in their catalogue.

Their final album (the Blue album) was a pretty solid return to form - somewhere between In Sides and The Brown Album in terms of sound, only not quite as inspired. Not earth-shattering, but worth a purchase unlike The Altogether. Incidentally, One Perfect Sunrise is probably one of the better tracks on the album.

I liked Raul - nice track (sort of Orbital meets Aphex). Thanks for the link . Downloading the other tracks now (stinking 56k ).

Glad you liked it and I'm sure you'll like this one, if you haven't heard it already

np: Power-Pill - Pac-Man

Oh man. I think you just became my personal hero. Anyone who sets me up with a Richard D James track that I haven't heard (although I've heard of this one, just never had my hands on it before) is a bit of a champ as far as I'm concerned (you may have noticed my not-so-subtle admiration for the man ).

Not bad for 1992 - reminds me of The Prodigy's early stuff.

I'm desperate to listen to his Analord stuff but I think they're only available on vinyl at the moment and I don't have a deck (or the money to buy ten 12"s ). You heard any of it?

Nope, I'm not as big fan of his, sorry. Never even heard of Analord.

np: T.Raumschmiere - Rabaukendisko

Don't know if this would appeal to you. This man was really hyped some time ago and even had a pretty big dancefloor hit (Monstertruckdriver). This song, however, is a tad more brutal

I'm listening to music made for Mark Ryden's paintings. It's a dark mix of ambient and instrumental sounds. Pretty different from most of what I've heard, although I hear some similarities to the Final Fantasy 7 soundtrack.

I'll give anything a go (and the less dancefloor friendly, the better). By the way, was that supposed to be a link, or are you simply recommending it?

That's cool. Your hero status is still holding up. Damaged maybe, but still holding up.

Ambo - 1000 years and 1 day

Excellent stuff. Arrived today, really good music... makes me feel a bit nerdy as it's by Ryan Miller, but then it's very Floydian and matches my musical taste anyhow.

No, no link, but here are some samples.
(and here's a little more than that, but that's for evil people only)

np: Geiger - Cocain-e

(VERY dancefloor friendly, don't try to find it, I want to remain at least partly cool )
