Green Day vs Eminem
You all asked for it.
|
Voted Tito because I'm not a fan other the other two. Although Eminem is a good rapper, so I don't mind listening to some of his stuff.
|
Hate em' all!
|
I agree! Though out of that list, I'd reluctantly choose green day.
|
I like Greenday and Eminem. Heck, I even like Tito Puentes. So I voted for all 3 :)

And yet, I feel so empty inside, not voting for any of them. Does that make me a bad person? |
Hmm, yeah I shouldn't have made this multiple choice but I really wanted to vote for Green Day and Tito, although I have nothing agaisnt Eminem - just not a big rap guy.
|
they're all crap to me
|
Nine Inch Nails.

Nine Inch Nails definetely aren't for everyone.
I like Green Day. They're the only pop-punk band that actually has talent. |
Eminem. I'm not a big fan of either of them, but The Marshall Mathers LP is, at times, incredible.
|
Well, Tito is the best of the three mentioned... :D
|
Hmm. Didn't expect Slim to be ahead.
|
I think Tito may have taken some votes away from Green Day.
|
Tito is to Green Day, as Ralph Nader is to John Kerry and Al Gore.
|
They're all rather bland, really.
|
Who is Tito????
|
Josip Broz Tito was the ruler of Yugoslavia between the end of World War II 1980.

NIN are definitely one of my all-time best bands :D I have been listening to them since the early 90's and hope to see them when they tour the UK later this year :D Trent Reznor has such a great charisma, wether its on stage, on video or just listening to him on CD :D I really can't begin to describe how cool this band is :D But, getting back to the topic - I would have to say early Green Day beats all the others. How can you compare to songs like Basket Case, When I Come Around, Welcome To Paradise, Longview, Chump, 2000 Light Years Away...... the list is endless........... :D |

I agree that NIN aren't for everyone - I really think that you need to appreciate hardcore rock music and to have experienced life's low times to understand where this band/Trent is coming from :D |

Well, anyway this is Tito: http://www.dw-world.de/dwelle/allgem...28076_6,00.jpg http://images.webster-dictionary.org.../a/af/Tito.jpg |
Green Day and Tito. I normally wouldn't vote for Green Day, but I'm a sucker for rock operas and song cycles and their recent American Idiot fits the bill. Heck, it even has its own Wiki!

Wikipedia is a hack. |
Wrong Tito people, Tito Puentes is no dictator, he's the Mambo King!!

Green Day definetely.

American Idiot is one of the best new "punk" albums of recent years. I always thought they should find something to hook onto, as most of their songs are about boredom, relationships and love. Thanks be for Bush that their last album ended up being a real punk winner!
Although personally I prefer Rancid's Out Come The Wolves and recent album Indestructible. |
I second that. And Strike Anywhere's Change is a sound.

Thread resurrection? WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Ninth, after giving some thought to your question, I can only come up with two qualifications for "hardcore" rock music: A. It sounds better the louder you play it, and B. It's offensive to some conservative segment of society; The more offensive it is, the more hardcore it is. Nine Inch Nails is definately hardcore. In their day, so were Elvis and the Beatles, but the 20/20 hindsight of history has relegated them to "classic" status. The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Ramones, Kiss, Nirvana, The Sex Pistols, Pearl Jam, Rob Zombie, Smashing Pumpkins, David Bowie, and numerous others also qualify loosely as hardcore, or did in their respective periods. Basically, I'd say being hardcore is about expressing heartfelt and universal, though impolite, sentiments in the loudest manner possible. Oh yeah, I voted for Greenday. ScottMate |
