Saw Greenday Live
I saw Greenday live last night. They were absolutely brilliant. After the show me and my friend waited in the car to tail them to the afterparty. The security guards told everyone they had left already but we didn't buy into that. Surely enough, out they came in 2 Taragos. So we tailed them but two other cars cut us off while the car Greenday were in sped off. And that was it, they were gone. I suspect we didn't see them exiting for the airport. Bastards

Oh, boy. I really want to avoid this, but... can't. Greenday sucks.

Rock operas are awesome. Nuff said.

They're like all the same crappy punk groups, talking about the same crap no one cares about, over crappy, generic guitar rifs.

Which means, of course, that I really like Greenday, or at leat what i know of them, which is their last album. I envy you, New Order. |

Maybe I just take it for granted that I've been listening to Green Day much longer than the average person on this forum.
Go listen to Dookie, then tell me they're generic... -emily (feeling rather old and bitter at the moment) |

Green Day has proved themselves better than the average punk band by evolving and remaining relevant eleven years after they first hit the national scene. And Longview is awesome.

The tickets were free. I can go to any concert at the entertainment center (Main Brisbane concert venue) for free. I like Greenday, I'm not what you'd consider a hardcore fan though. Actually, I felt kind of out of place among all the token punkers.

I have been listening to Green Day since they first started up and have all their albums. Listen to their first couple of albums, "Kerplunk" and "1039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours" then you will see they are NOT generic. I didnt "jump on the bandwagon" either; the only people that do that are the teenys barely out of nappies who have probably never even heard of their earlier albums. Green Day's musical style has changed so much over the years, yet they remain consistently brilliant whereas say, Metallica for example, started to go downhill after the Black album. I just think Metal/Punk generally gets bad press from peeps who dont listen to it, and can only generalise about it. Quote:
