It's a Squirrel Monkey. A Black-Capped Squirrel Monkey, I think.
In german they are called "Totenkopfäffchen", which can be translated as "Skullmonkey". -

If you photographed and videotaped a person for long enough, I'm sure you could find enough images where they convincingly looked like a rhinocerous, or even a squid. So that's hardly conclusive evidence that the President is a monkey. If you want to be sure, you should check his DNA and get a blood sample. And because he's so busy, you should probably run up to him really fast with the syringe in your hand so you can get it quickly.

Capuchin monkeys are my favorite. They are so well represented in pop culture. Ace Ventura's monkey, Ross from Friends' monkey, the disease carrying monkey from Outbreak, and the poop flinging monkey from one of my favorite comic book series, "Y the last man," are all Capuchin! They're so cute, even when they're angry!

I think all animals are cute, except for monkeys. I've never been a fan of the ape family.

I have vague memories of visiting several monkey forests in South East Asia when I was a kid. I can remember being highly amused watching a bunch of tourists walk into the forests with a handful of bananas, only to be completely swarmed by a frenzy of hungry monkeys in a matter of seconds.
I also remember seeing a monkey snatch a tourist's camera and run off with it. This, too, brought me great enjoyment. I guess I like seeing tourists suffer. Despite this, I'm not a big fan of monkeys. I guess the only kind of monkey I ever really liked when I was a kid was the spider monkey, probably because of its cool name. |

Hmmm, that sounds like a lesson in evolution. I wonder what those ancestral Franciscan monkeys look like Are they extinct now? It's pretty interesting to imagine what the white and black garb of these Capuchin monks must've looked like in order to inspire the nominal association with the Capuchin monkeys (monks-monkeys? the plot thickens! )

BTW, chimpanzees and gorillas are apes. They are not monkeys. Here's my favorite monkey, a pygmy marmoset. |
