1 bottle beer
juice from 2 lemons
2/3 cups of water
3/4 pounds of sugar

Preparation:

Make simple syrup by bringing sugar and water to a boil, then turning down heat and simmering for 5 minutes. Mix other ingredients together with syrup. Adjust sweetness by adding up to 1/2 cup water. Freeze in an ice cream freezer. Note: Since sugar and alcohol work as an antifreeze, if mixture is too sweet or too alcoholy, it will not freeze properly.

Well, for one, I would surely end up burning the sugar. This is one of the reasons why I never make caramel (The other reason is that I don't like caramel).

And for two, very few people in germany own an Ice Cream Freezer. In fact, in my 18 years of life, I have known nobody that owned an Ice Cream Freezer. I don't think I ever saw one in shops, either.

When I was small, we used to make water ice by filling apple juice into special containers and putting it into the normal freezer. The result was a solid block of Juice-Ice. WE WERE HAPPY WITH THAT! Now get off my lawn!

And for third, it is just not the same as Häagen Dazs. I would go to the Ice Cream Parlour that is not very far away from my home every day in summer in order to get Raspberry Sorbet if it were the same (in fact, their Ice Cream is very good. They make it themselves.

Ice cream freezer sounds like you have to get a huge appliance and you really don't. You can get a usable ice cream maker for fifty bucks. Besides, I don't think you can get Beer sorbet at your local Häagen Dazs.

I think they are more expensive here in germany - I could find only one Ice Machine available, and it costs EUR 379,90.

Also, I don't eat Ice THAT often. And why do they sell it in the US? They have more Ice Machines there!

True, but they have Bailey's Ice.

-Ich nehme eine Kugel Schoko und eine Kugel Erdbeere. Oder nein, lieber Banane.
-Dreimal Banane, bitte.
-Warum nimmst du denn dreimal Banane?
-Ich kann nur Banane aussprechen.
-Oh no.

Maybe that's what I was missing when I tried making my own thin mint cookies.

Wow, that's an awesome recipe, I do this a few times a week. Oh wait, I didn't see the other ingredients

I'll be serious now: What does it taste like, just lemon or you can recognize the beer too? I'll make this one, better be good or I'll be mad for ruining
a cold brewsky! BTW Can it be dark beer?

No, it's the name used for a box of ice cream that contains chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry.

In Finland it is called "trio".

I think in Bavaria, this recipe would be banned. It is like a sin to even think of putting a slice of lemon into beer (like they usually do with fizzy water)

Heh, I was just pulling Jazy's legs when I said beer sorbet is my favorite sorbet. I tried it once and didn't like it at all to tell you the truth. I'm not a big beer fan.

I used a lot of sugar so the taste of beer was cut down a lot but I could still taste it. I personally wouldn't use dark beer. They tend to have very strong flavor and too bitter. I used Heineken, which is just about the only beer I can stand.

So I guess Corona is not very popular in Germany? We usually have it with a slice of lime.

I don't think an ice cream maker and an ice maker are the same thing.

Ever since I found a frozen snail in my ice cream I never enjoyed it the way I used to. The snail thing happened about 5 minutes ago BTW.
How did that happen??!! How come there's a FROZEN SNAIL in my ICE CREAM??!! Ugh...

My fav flavor is vanilla. Chocolate ice cream is usually too strong IMO and strawberry is... Well I like them as fruits but now as ice cream.

As far as I know, they never actually put the lemon inside the beer. It's just traditional for Mexican beers to have a slice of lemon in the bottle's throat, because there's so many flies in Mexico, and the lemon repels them from congregating inside.

I just wanted to say the same thing. But with less words...

And gilly, Heineken isn't a beer, it's a disgrace
