Default Trivia Showdown '05!!!!!!!! #1

Welcome to the first Trivia Showdown. Here are the rules.

1. Do not post answers in this thread, PM them to me. Say it with me: I will not post answers in this thread.

2. You may only guess on each answer once, over the course of three PMs.

3. Some of these are very obscure, some are very easy, deal with it. It's trivia after all.

4. Please do not look up the answers. If you really want to, theres nothing stopping you, but it takes away the fun for everyone else so please don't.

5. I have not yet decided how to reveal the answers. Its down to a big surprise at the end or revealing as they're guessed, leave input on this and I'll decide accordingly.

6. The contest ends on Sunday the 28th, 12:00 GMT. All answers sent after that are void.

7. If the question if unclear, post your misunderstanding and I or someone else will help out.

8. All questions are worth 10 points, bonus questions are worth 15 points. I will award 5 points if I deem it neccessary (eg. when someone answers one of two people)

9. Reread rules 1 and 4.

Thats about it, have fun.

I will not post answers in this thread.
I will not post answers in this thread.

I have a question, though. Point 2 means that every message sent after I write three PMs regarding the trivia is void, am I right?

Yes, after three PMs that contain answers, any more PMs are void. You can however, send PMs with questions, but I don't see why as you can you that in this thread.

Excellent.

Ok, I've made one edit to the questions, I was looking for the scientific name of the largest bone in the human body, so far it only applies to one person and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because I didn't specify.

All of the guessers so far have done a very good job. Should I reveal who has gotten each question or not? Its up to you guys and gals.

This one may be hard for non-Americans sorry. MLB is Major League Baseball and RBI is runs batted in. Don't worry, no ones gotten it so far and I doubt many will.

one of the trivia questions? If so, what sort of margin of error are we allowed? To the nearest 100?

Looks fun. I'll print it out so I can scribble on it. Does asking my other half (who loves quizzes) count as a breach of rule 4? If so, I'll show her the quiz but only send in the ones I can get on my own.

Hmmmm, try to do most of them on your own, but I put that rule so people wouldn't be using encyclopedias or anything. And yes, you do have answer the ostrich question.
