Is that pic really YOUR cat? I will die of cuteness overload! Looks a lot like one of mine, and she is a fearsome hunter (if she were ever allowed to go outside.) She will stalk a bug for hours.

(I'm getting an enlarged version of that for my room apartment shack.)

My favorite martini lately has been something I call "apple pie martini":

2cl vodka
2cl cointreau
apple juice
a pinch of cinnamon

Shake with ice, serve in chilled cocktail glasses.

The variations are practically endless, aren't they, hon?

One time I ordered a Chapel Hill - gin with some cherry liqueur or something. Tasted like cough medicine.

Indeedy-do.

Yes, well, in my books mixing gin with anything other than tonic water is a waste of perfectly good gin. Unless it's bad gin.

(I exclusively prefer vodka-based martinis, too.)

If it's bad gin, it's not even worth using.

I usually order Bombay Sapphire, as most places stock it. But rare is Boord's Gin or Boodles, I love both, but most bars don't have it. For those a classic martini is best, 'cause the gin is so smooth when at its iciest. It has to be chilled to within an inch of its life, as you know. And not shaken, but plunged in with the ice, so as not to bruise the gin.

I love a gin Gibson, or when it's summertime, a Gimlet, with fresh limejuice (not from concentrate) and powdered sugar (not cane).

Cheers, gorgeous.

Bombay Sapphire all the way, babe! There's only one gin other than Bombay that I have liked, but I forgot its name. It was served in a basement bar of a department store here in Helsinki, but they recently renovated and the bar is now gone.

That's disgusting! You use a litter box? Hmm, maybe Finland isn't as sophisticated and advanced as I thought.

Oh, Finland is sophisticated and advanced all right. Wormsie, however, isn't.
