Default Intolerable Cruelty

It's satire. It's slapstick. It's cunning. It's comedy. Go see it.

I have to admit, this looks pretty crappy to me. I can almost guarantee I'm not going to see it.

Agreed, Remixor. A woman marrying men so she can divorce them and take all their money? Absurd.

But it's comedy and I guess in comedy, anything is okay.

Either way, I'm sort of strict on the kind of movies I watch in the theatre and this doesn't seem like the kind of movie that warrants a viewing in a theatre, so I guess I'll just wait till the DVD comes out, if I really must see it.

I guess these guys haven't seen The Big Lebowski, Fargo, O Brother Where Art Thou, Miller's Crossing, The Hudsucker Proxy, Barton Fink, or Raising Arizona before...

Not to mention, George Clooney in the trailer makes me want to bash my head into the wall until I have destroyed enough brain cells to forget about George Clooney in the trailer. Not crazy about Zeta-Jones in the trailer either.

Damn. We're in a tight spot!

1) Nope, sorry.
2) I did on TV and then in English class. Excellent movie!
3) Another one in English class. 'twas okay.
4) Nope.
5) Sorry.
6) Nope
7) Thank you television.

All (most) of the movies you mention came out in a time when I was too young to watch them. So, invariably, I had to watch them on TV or some other form of medium

Fargo is great and The Big Lebowski is one of my favorite comedies. I liked The Hudsucker Proxy as well.

Kode, you should rectify that. If you're old enough, see Miller's Crossing. Not exactly the most happy-go-lucky movie, but great (if you're old enough).

I still need to see Raising Arizona, Hudsucker Proxy, and (one I didn't mention) The Man Who Wasn't There, myself. Garr... Oh yeah, and also those movies that aren't made by Coens.

I really, really want to see The Man Who Wasn't There. And as far as not wanting to see Intolerable Cruelty, it's not because I don't like the Coens. I do, very much. I just can't see myself being able to sit through this movie. I won't force myself to see something just because I've liked previous work of some of the filmmakers.

The Man Who Wasn't There is pretty good and Thorton is great but it goes out there near the end.

K, well, apologies for misrepresenting you. I'm not sure what you mean by being unable to sit through it. Not a fan of comedy?

No, I don't generally hold preferences for particular genres. It's just that the trailer was almost unbearable for me, so I can't see myself being able to sit through at least an hour and a half of it. This is due in no small part to George Clooney.

Hrm.. Well if it makes you feel better, Clooney basically plays himself. Also, the movie's nothing like the trailer.

Haven't missed a Cohen release yet, and most certainly wont now. Their confidince capital is rating pretty high with me, lol! Loved everything they've done so far!

Oh, and Cloney made fun of himself and his good looks in "Brother Where Art Though" which was immensely funny, it thought! hehehehe, dapper dan...
