Swedish foreign minister attacked!

Today the Swedish foreign minister were attacked and got stuck down with a knife. She has been in hospital with major injuries.

It makes me really mad to think that maniacs can attack like this. :(

Yeah, dad told us this over dinner. It's so sick that people would actually do things like this.

pleto4_ryan 09-10-2003 08:09 AM

I have seen it in the news (2 times)

i just hope she will be okay.

emma 09-10-2003 07:33 PM

She died. The nation is in shock, to say the least. :frown: Currently, the most speculation is that it was some maniac that stabbed her. Police still haven't found him.

Garyos 09-10-2003 07:45 PM

A tragedy. Condolences to her family, friends, and the rest of Sweden.

ragnar 09-10-2003 07:49 PM

It is a tragedy. She was one of the best politicians we had. I really hope that they catch the murderer.

It is a curious circumstance that she died on september 11.

DomStLeger 09-10-2003 09:22 PM

It is very sad indeed :\

Something that suprised me is that Swedish politicians don't have BodyGuards; especially after the assasination of the swedish primeminister some years back. I suppose it's going to end; which is sad as it's another acknowledgement that we live in an increasingly dangerous and violent world. :\

It's a crazy crazy world today.

I heard the news yesterday evening while watching football, there wasn't much to cheer after that.

Something horrible is on the move, wonder what's gonna happen tomorrow...

pleto4_ryan 09-10-2003 11:03 PM

Yep, heard she died. She actually had taken many hits by the knife. I thought it was one or two :frown:

tragic.

(something like this has happened in here some months before. A famous woman polititian was attacked in her car by a mad guy with a shotgun. Thank god (for her) she was talking in the mobileand she had just ducked to get her agenta as her husbant wanted a phone...She lived for that seconds. The guy was actually a man with "serious" problems. The thing is that her previous husband was killed a decade+ before by a terrorist organisation  )

I wonder do they have women polititians on the hit? :shifty:

Royal Fool 09-11-2003 12:22 AM

What a sicko to do such a thing.

Yeah, it's pretty weird alright. As you say, it will probably change from now on.
It will be interesting to see if the Swedish police finds that bastard. Probably not, when you consider that they haven't even found Olof Palme's killer after 16 years.

Sweden is probably one of the most secure states in the world and still these kinds of things happen. Shocking!

It is only the prime minister that has (at least have had) had bodyguards with him everywhere. The security police apparently thought that there weren't any threats against Anna Lindh yesterday. How they could come to that conclusion I don't know.

Pappapisshu 09-11-2003 02:34 AM

Truly, truly sad. It's very shocking.

James 09-11-2003 03:03 AM

Condolences to her family, friends, and the people of Sweden. The world is still a dark place, but we will make it through to the light of day.

Anna Lindh has long been an inspiration to me as a woman, as she showed that a woman can have a strong, influential career and have a family.

It is very shocking and saddening that such a light should be rubbed out and in such an horrific way!

My heart and my deepest commiserations go out to her family, her friends and indeed, her country.

twifkak 09-11-2003 05:51 AM

It seems like the nicest, kindest and smartest people in the world is always the ones who faces death first: Martin Luther King, J. F. K., Princess Diana and now Anna Lindh also. Troubling thought.
