Adventure Game Challenge
A new game from the Bastich, this time with an adventure game theme. This one is a 3 part trivia game/puzzle.
1) Identify the game that each cropped screen-shot is from. 2) Maintain a list of the ones you know, in order. (Drop A, An, or The from the title if it has such.) The last letter of each title will reveal a bit of the answer to part two. Solve part two and get hints to the rest of part one. 3) If you answer enough of part one and part two, the answer to the entire puzzle shall be revealed to you on your list. That is the answer to part three. This will give you even more hints to part one if you haven't gotten them all. So the full scenario involves naming 16 screen-shots and two additional puzzles involving the titles. Last edited by Bastich; 03-28-2004 at 10:17 PM. |

You are correct on those two, DustCropper.
As an aside, just in case I wasn't clear in my original description, below is what I meant as far as using the last letter for the answer to part two. This is a minor spoiler, but if you plug the last letters of the two games DustCropper got correct into the template below, you get: _ E _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ E _ _ _ _ This is the name of an adventure game (number of words not specified) to be figured out Hangman style, from the game titles of the screen-shots. If you figure out what it is, (and it is possible to do so already) you can use those letters to figure out the game titles of the other screen-shots, because you will know the last letter of all the titles on the screen-shot list. Part 3, the real answer I am looking for in this puzzle, is also another game title in the same fashion, mixed into the letters of the titles in a vertical fashion. Listing the titles in order will help you find it and give you a 2nd letter as a clue to go by to finish up some of the unanswered in part 1, if one so desires. You don't even need to answer all the screen-shot questions to win, only to figure out part 3. Everything else is really just clues to find that. Almost all of the games are from the mid 90s BTW. |

Some of these look familiar but I can place hardly any of them. One I'm pretty sure of is:
Spoiler: And I think the answer to Part 2 (fits with most of the above answers anyway): Spoiler: This help fill in any blanks? Last edited by simpson_yellow; 03-29-2004 at 07:41 AM. |

Unfortunately, AFGNCAAP, you are incorrect on all your guesses.
jaap is correct on #3,4,6,10 Cellardoor is correct on #8 simpson_yellow is correct on #9 AND has answered part two correctly, giving clues to the rest. It may actually be possible to solve part 3 now if you list the correct titles out and have a good eye. The remaining screenshots to name are 1,5,7,11,13-16. |

Seriously though, while the other two were blind guesses, I was pretty confident about no 11. I still think I've seen it somewhere... I'll wait for the hints.

You are incorrect SamandMax.
You are correct AFGNCAAP. It will be very hard from now on, so I have taken the liberty of compiling a list of the correct answers so far to help you guys along. Keep part 3 in mind as you look at it. Spoiler: |

You are correct simpson_yellow. It is probably just an illusion from the cropping and compression as to how good it looks...

Well, it is either too hard, or just not much fun judging by the lack of responses at this point, so here are the remaining answers:
