You know, it kinda sucks that I am panfully average as far as geekiness goes... Perhaps I should not promote myself as a 'geek' seeing how I am an unexceptional one... This is unlike me, I am never average. 5h!t...

I think history is one of the most fascinating things there is. I love reading about old tales from ancient cultures and religions. I also really enjoy folk music and classical music. As well as movies, books and computer games that is about historical things. I really recommend you reading some stuff about the celtics or the germanians. Really fascinating stuff.

You are 60% geek
You are a geek. Good for you! Considering the endless complexity of the universe, as well as whatever discipline you happen to be most interested in, you'll never be bored as long as you have a good book store, a net connection, and thousands of dollars worth of expensive equipment. Assuming you're a technical geek, you'll be able to afford it, too. If you're not a technical geek, you're geek enough to mate with a technical geek and thereby get the needed dough. Dating tip: Don't date a geek of the same persuasion as you. You'll constantly try to out-geek the other.

I am 46.5% geek according to the purity test.

And, according to Cool Quiz... wait for it....

Spoiler:

Your GQ (Geek Quotient) is....

84
(this puts you in the 72.80 percentile.)

Your GQ is below average - you must be cool as a cucumber!

WTF???

Welcome to the club!
I always wear my Devil May Cry pendant, and I nearly always wear a T-shirt about videogames or comics... (too bad there aren't geeky sweaters)...
I think the Geek IQ test is the fairest because it doesn't ask you if you own 5 PCs and 5 modems... Man, what do they think that just because youre a geek you are working for a rich company? The other tests assume that you have to be a computer GENIUS, which is very farfetched, maybe they were computer geek tests??
Only a few have scored over 30% in the 1st test! So it can't be right!
Oh the other reason I like the Geek IQ is because I got the highest score! Booyah! W00t! And wuthermore: Wiigii!
Twifkak, do you work for a computer company, or are you studying computer prgramming? If so, that would confirm that the 1st two tests are really meant for PC geniuses, because you got the highest scores in those two...

I am 39% Geek

You probably work in computers, or a history deptartment at a college. You never really fit in with the "normal" crowd. But you have friends, and this is a good thing.

That's not true... I will never work in computers (or history) and I don't have a social life. (I hope this will change some day). Everything else is true, I guess...

I'm only 18% geek, but

-I've been gaming since I was 7 (1992)
-I'm dying to get a pda to read ebooks on
-I have over 100 dvds
-I spend at least 6 hours on my computer a day
-I'm a member of this forum

but I also think the first LOTR movie was better than the first book which I think dysqualifies me as a geek or something

Your are 54% Geek
Nerd, Freak, Geek, Dweeb. Sound familiar? That's okay, cause you will be the richest person at your 15th year high school reunion. If a "con" isn't happening that weekend.

How did that happen? I was *convinced* I wouldn't rate high on this.... *mutters and grumbles* Guess I started too late to become whatever that blurb predicted, LOL!

Results did vary...

Anyway none of those quizes ask about geeks/nerds stuff in general. They are rather "Are you a computer geek?" tests.

In Poland you realise you're a geek when after the reading of Malcolm X Autobiography you go to your friends to talk about it but they tell you that they don't like s-f books.

As far as actual things...

I read slashdot fairly regularly, and can spout off the cliché jokes with the best of them.
I know the ASCII codes for the common accented characters (sadly, I don't know the whole table), as well as a ton of other codes.
I've been thinking about getting a binary clock.
I could go on and on and on...

Well, thank you, Mr. Literal. The majority doesn't read them on their own volition, unless a grade is assigned to it, is what I meant. I'd like to be the kind that reads on my own volition, but I'm not. Whatever that means.
