Part time writer for hire
|
I've drunk Hoegarden, I eat sweed, so that must compensate for the fact that I know jack and sh*t about the Swedish language, and Jack just left town, baby!
Anyway, going back to the original intention of this thread. My handle, redhotray is derived from a nickname I dubbed by e-wrestling character, 'Red Hot' Ray Willmott. It was the only thing I could think of that rhymed with my surname and eventually, it just kinda stuck! Of course, i've been called a red hot chilli pepper (honored), a red hot poker, and I've also been asked to let off a lot of steam. My avatar is of Guybrush Threepwood for two reasons. One, because Monkey Island is my favorite adventure game of all time, and two, because I believe it best represents the person I am right now, with starry eyes, and a longing look into the future. I think the picture well represents me, and my ambitions. It almost looks as if Guybrush is in deep thought, thinking about life, and that's exactly what I spend most of my days doing. My title, Part time writer for hire, is essentially what I do in my spare time, I LOVE TO WRITE!!! I'm trying to write fictional stories, and am hoping to complete a project, give it a makeover and be proud that I actually commited something final to paper. At first, writing just used to be about getting published for me, but as I've grown up, I've more and more wanted to vent my frustrations out in my writings and have my voice heard, instead of it being muffled in the background. I guess as i've grown older, I've just believed that maybe, I might just have something interesting to say... My signature is basically my website for my works bowling team. We have a great laugh each and every month, playing teams within our work place and externally. It's just a nice time to unwind, relax, and talk with people, you only get the chance to wave to in the corridors.

Stupid Internet doesn't have any Swedish to English translation programs! I had to put that into the dictionary word by word, and it made absolutely no frickin' sense! (Except from "I am from Narpes and I have herpes"--funny! )

Anyway, the story behind my username began about 10 years ago, when a 9-year-old boy first tried an interesting game called Civilization, a game that would change his life... The boy liked the idea of ruling the world and he, of course, needed a title for himself and thought that Emperor was a nice title for a leader of an Empire. He needed something to add to that though. Well, he couldn't just be called Emperor now could he? His real name, Mats, didn't seem that great, Emperor Mats didn't sound very frightening, so he had to make some changes to the name. He's favorite empire was the Roman and he thought that Mattsius had a nice Roman ring to it (kids! ). Well, the 9-year-old kid was me, obviously, and the name has stuck ever since. As for my avatar, it's Scrat from the movie Ice Age, simply because it was a great movie and Scrat was one of the greatest things about the movie. And the title "Scrat Sabertooth Squirrel" is, obviously , the whole name for our beloved little squirrel, Scrat. My signature is a link to LarryLives.com , a site I planned together with a couple of other guys. Last year we got some rumors that Leisure Suit Larry would return and we started a campaign to get Al Lowe aboard the team that was making the title (well, it was probably making back then). Well, we failed, but it was a nice experience and we got pretty many people interested in the subject, which felt nice. And I might add that it was the LarryLives team that broke the news about the November 2003 CGM cover with Larry on 8-) , and not anyone else as the world seems to think (just had to get that out of my system). Anyway, that stuff is old by now and so is the site. It's almost not getting updated at all anymore and I've been thinking about changing my sig to something else and, eventually, it will happen, but that's something that takes effort... |

doppelganger rex was the password Yahoo gave me wehn I tried to play chess there and had forgotten my old one and I liked it enough that I changed it inot my name and ever since have been using it for all inetrnet purpioses (not as a password, so no dice there) and because I'm a noob the title and the signature say waht they do, I think I should inform people since it would just be horrible to be confused with some of the locals. And Nobbie is there because it sortof sounds like newbie and I am big on that sort of sh**.
