The photo thread
Put the photo(s) that you are the most proudest of here! I will start with the lizard I shot last week in Delft in Reptile Zoo Serpo:

One of my favourite pictures from last summer.

Is it your cat, Jelena?
It's awesome! I believe it's a she, by the way, so I'm going to say that she has the cutest ears :) |
She looks very young and playfull. Beautiful shot!

I wanted to keep him so bad, but the rest of the family doesn't agree with me on having a cat. :frown: |
Those are great. I'm not the camera person in the family Mrs.R is.http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3100/...5752cf5b_b.jpg Here is a pic she took before we left KY
|
That's a thing of beauty, rlpw. So crisp. You've got a great photo there too, Jelena. I'm sorry you couldn't keep the critter. (I think I've got more photos of my cats than I have of people. Hmmm, does that make me a crazy cat person? :D)
http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...e/DSC01530.jpg This was taken on the London Eye early last year. Probably not the most original subject and composition, but I kind of like it... Here's an alternate shot. I can't decide which one I like better... http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...e/DSC01520.jpg tsa: I would complement your photo too, but I've got an irrational fear of lizards. ;) The colours are incredible, though. |

Edit: I like the first picture you posted most, D.C. It's more dynamic than the second one; you see the people in the pod next to yours enthousiastically walking around, pointing, and deciding what is the most interesting thing to look at. How high is that thing anyway? It looks like you can see the curvature of the Earth from up there! |
Quote:
rlpw That's beautiful! DC I also like the first picture best for the same reasons tsa mentioned. Also, magnificent view. |
That's a very vivid shot, tsa.
I like that shot of the cat. Very sweet, Jelena. I'm a great fan of lovely winterscape photos, rlpw. Your wife has a good eye. And I'm with the majority, DC. The first shot is more dynamic, which translates as 'more interesting'. Nice work. Sorry, I don't have any particularly good photos on my computer right now. Lots of bog standard stuff, but nothing noteworthy. |
tsa, I said anything because, like D.C., I abhor lizards and such.
D.C.: beautiful pictures. I love London and you captured it well! |
Thanks for the kind words. After considering it some more I think you guys are right, the first one is more interesting. I think I liked the framing of the London Eye against the backdrop in the second one, but the first is just a generally stronger picture.
Andrea: I'm glad I'm not the only one with the severe Lizard phobia. ;) tsa: Hmmm, the official website says it's 135 metres. Greatest view in London, though. (Although a local probably knows somewhere better and less expensive. :)) Can't wait to see what else you've got, seems you're quite the photographer. :D http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...e/IMG_7113.jpg I took a photography class at Uni in '06. This was the first time I actually got my hands on a really nice camera, instead of just a standard digital one. Unfortunately I only had it booked for two days, so didn't have nearly enough time to learn it properly. I kinda like this shot. It's an old bridge near where I live. Back in the day it used to be the only way to get to the other side. (Now there's two modern multi-lane bridges, which you can't see...) It kind of reminds me of another time. People fish off the side now and it's closed for cars. Very flimsy and scary to walk across. ;) I was going to submit it with washed out, faded colours but ended up just submitting this instead. (I can show you guys the photoshopped version if you're interested, but I don't want to be that guy who posts two versions of the same picture every time. :D) |

Here´s a photo I took when I was in Thailand a few weeks ago (more about that later on)

That's beautiful Tobbe. I love pictures like this. Very nice.

Here´s another one, also from the Thailand trip: http://archive.pixbox.se/arkivet/syn...0/26009869.jpg |
That one is not as good as the first one IMO. What is it that you wanted to show on that picture?

I took this one years ago and I still like it.

And Tobbe, I like the second shot of that cat best. The way it looks into the lens is very professional. |
That cat is amazing (I'm tapping the ears of my cat, otherwise she'll be jealous) :D
And tsa, that photo is amazing in every respect: color, atmosphere, subject (the way it turns gives a great sense of movement and direction). You are very talented. |
Oh, man. There's some impressive photos in this thread! Keep 'em coming.
(Here's the alternate, photoshopped version of that bridge picture I posted earlier, btw.) |
Not like rlpw's shot into the branches but it's proved popular in the blog thread
Snowing at the chapel http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...han/Chapel.jpg Love the animal shots. All so clear. |
Step that is so pretty..... it is breath taking. :9~

Well, here's just (random) one I took last fall. I'll see about posting some more pics once I find a host that I like...
Works a bit better when it's in its original large size |
It is pretty hard to pick but here is my effort!

Well not that people aren't talented at editing either but it doesn't make photography as "real" as the old days where they did not even have the same tools to fix things with. This thread better keep getting pictures! :) |
I will post a new picture soon. I took some very nice ones yesterday in a museum here in Enschede. Thanks for the compliment Mike!
|
Yesterday I took this one:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3652/...0b88a6.jpg?v=0 It was taken in a museum that shows the development of the region I live in from the last Ice Age until now. Really nice museum, both architecturally(?) and content-wise. If you click on the picture you will find more pictures taken in the museum. |
Brilliant tsa!
|
kitties are just awesomesauce!
|
great pics tsa :D
|
The photo is really great, tsa! Mesmerizing!
|
Wow very impressive Tsa :)!
Sounds like an interesting museum and the colours very captivating.. |
Thanks you all!
Who will post the next picture? |
I'm trying to post family pics but the files are to big :frown:
Matt is working on making them smaller.... but it might be a while :shifty: |
