Thanks for the positive responses ! haha sorry *Andreadraco* but I admire snails! The current in a sense ecological problem is that these black snails of Norway have been taken over by the imported much bigger brown snails. So it is always nice to find the traditional black ones thriving in their natural enviroment.
Oh *bulldog* I assure you its relaxing having the view of these vast beautiful areas ! It is a dream to somehow find a perfect balance between that and rural places. Awesome pictures UPtimist, I especially love that first one with the blue reflecting lake! makes me want to see finland , and been thinking of such recently. Or is Lapland in Sweden geographically? (kinda confused of what wiki had to say about it) *Tsa* yeah it is one of my favourite tree shots so happy that it got noticed ! I really love your snail picture, it seems you always manage to snap the right moments for pictures! Especially when catching the beautiful snail with its shell, while being on this beautiful purple flower! Okay instead of overdoing the fjords this time, I would like to share different bird shots! Swallows are always hyper and hard to catch in my opinion ,but one day I had luck when one was jumping from chair to chair snooping around. I think it is a swallow ,but am not that good at characterizing or knowing about bird breeds *just to note* http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...n/DSC00644.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...y/P1013522.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...y/P1013781.jpg Poor birds here as I was being quite a paparazi photographer (the mother got offended by me) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...nds/yene51.jpg heres the declaration to keep away! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ds/lyene46.jpg Smiling duck! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...y/P1012316.jpg Peacock on a roof.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...y/P1012432.jpg If people are interested in seeing much more pictures from Norway (got thousands), some of Germany (berlin and the country side), My photobucket account is open so just to scroll around the different albums ! http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v256/Mike_88/ |

Thanks for the compliments tsa, yeah you have a good point with that pipe being a bit in the way. Thanks for your input about the birds I just I failed at guessing. You are welcome but it is really fascinating when you capture those special movements which is something I want to achieve when capturing animals out in nature.
Oh btw I did check out the album you had on flickr from "Roombeek in Enschede", many interesting buildings and concepts! I wish I could attend something similar locally but doubt so More animal pictures: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...y/P1012406.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...y/P1012229.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...y/P1012185.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...y/P1012347.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...y/P1012268.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...y/P1012348.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...y/P1012395.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...y/P1012389.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...y/P1012386.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...y/P1012370.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...y/P1012241.jpg repost of earlier pictures which were from the same area: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...y/P1012330.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...y/P1012329.jpg Just to describe a bit where I was at, the farm animals belong to this more or so open farm for visitors where you see chickens roaming free (which was fun to see) and the dens for other animals even if not perfect are much bigger than those in the dairy/meat industry (they could at least move around) ,it is a place where people can rent and spend their holidays at while "connecting" with the animals and the countryside. I was invited by a friend of mine whos mother and stepfather ran the place and it gave me a perfect opportunity to take a lot of pictures of animals which I always love to do hehe. It is in Germany I don't remember exacly where but its east from Berlin. The person running the place had all kinds of bird types he was taking care of so I was rather fascinated to see certain different breeds I have had never seen before. However I didn't get to take pictures of all of them or the pictures that turned out better weren't those showing different breeds. Last edited by MikeLXXXVIII; 03-23-2009 at 04:23 AM. |

As such. If there's talk about Lapland, I'm pretty sure it's either that or just the Finnish parts. I guess especially in Finland it often refers only to the Finnish Lapland. |

Ahem, about 40% of Finland is also called Lapland (in English, in Finnish it's Lappi, or the Lappish County (in English again) or whatever)
Besides, as I said, I'm Finnish, so I'm Finnocentric... |

Thanks for the clearance, I see a conflict going on! (jk)
Yeah I meant about how there were both places called Lapland in both countries! Personally I don't hear the reference of Lapland in Norway.. But I had a feeling it might be more about a spesific area crossing boarders. |

Finally the rain stopped. I tried the spiked feet I got with my gorillapod for the first time today. They keep falling off the legs, so either I do something wrong or they just suck. Anyway, I shot two nice pictures. Here they are:

I have a feeling I have taken pictures of that first flower before, but sure this version is so much better !
My favourite of those two is the yellow/white flower, really great picture there! To me what works so well with it is how the colours blend without strong colour contrasts, with the white layers of the flower working as some background which makes it even more beautiful. |

Last autumn I had sown a few battery seeds. Today the weather suddenly changed from dull to beautiful so I went outside with my camera. I had already forgotten about the battery seeds, and you can imagine my surprise when I saw this:
They are quite hard to grow, and apparently we had just the right amount of sun and rain this year. Now I will try and nurture them until they are fully grown. |
