Ah, what photos I have in store! Some I took two days ago in a strange weather, and I think I'll have to show a couple that my father actually took, on another night of marvelloud weather a couple weeks back, that are simply amazing... Let's see if I could put some up now already...

(Edit): Uploading...

(Edit2): Alrighty, I won't spam them all as images this time, and hopefully I'll come back with a few more (but then again, I didn't last time ). Anyways, here's a few select examples (and in case you want to see more of something, there's very possibly a bit more there too )

Anyways, I'll start with some of the pictures I took:

http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...vitasku058.jpg

http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...vitasku014.jpg

Let's see if I can put these side by side...

http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...vitasku077.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...vitasku080.jpg

And here's a few of the ones my father took (I checked with him, it's OK )

http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...vitasku107.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...vitasku099.jpg

And there's more where that came from

Thanks! And that's my home town, Hämeenlinna (literally Häme Castle, that's the castle you can see in some of the pics ), about 100 km north of Helsinki. And in case you're really serious about coming, I suggest doing so in the summer. Winter makes it seem even more bleek than it is (as it always does, even though sometimes there are these days with amazing weather, like the pics I took the other day that still haven't uploaded...). Now, to balance between realistic expectations and tourism ads, I doubt it's really so special as to come just for it (and there's not really much else in the town to be honest), but I think it's a great day-trip destination in case one happens to be in Finland (Southern Finland mainly). There's a few castles in Finland that are probably a bit more touristy, this one was used as a women's prison for a while so some of the original insides perhaps aren't always in the original 'old glory' as it could, although it's obviously been restored as much as possible (has its pros and cons, obviously)...
(Edit: Wiki!)

But then again, I'm all used to it, I have no idea how it seems for an outsider

PM'd (And in case someone's interested (unlikely), and because I like to sound like much more of a hard-working student that I am, I can say that while I haven't had lectures or anything in a while, I've got a 1500 page exam on the 11th of January, so you can't exactly say that I'm finished now for the year )

(Edit2): Uploading a bunch of stuff! The main pics I took were just as good as I had hoped, but there were also some other pics that I took for fun that turned out great, so I've got a lot going on now

Alrighty then! And it was freezing then, you know. Had my glove off for a bit more than five mins and my fingers were already numb.

Anyways:

And on to freehand photos:

From a moving car these:

And back to weather photos:

As I said, the weather was weird that day, the lens (or photoshop) didn't do that, it really looked almost exactly like that. These tall, bright vertical halos way above all slightly brighter lights... And I hear it was even better one morning a bit after that, but I happened to be asleep then

Here are two of the photos I took on my trip to America:

Both of these were taken right in the backyard of the house where I was staying.

I was in Illinois a few weeks ago. The lake is Lake Michigan, from my grandparents' private beach. It's not a normal house. They're selling it, because the taxes are higher than they can afford. I wrote the whole thing up on my blog (in nine posts), and I posted eight photos at the end, of which I think these two were the best. The rest are here, if you're interested.

Thanks a lot!

Also, wonderful pics from Moriarty! The mood in the first one is great, and the snowless part of the beach is a great contrast in the second pic

Yeah, I am. I would have taken pictures of the inside, but my grandfather was paranoid that if I posted pictures of the inside on the internet, thieves would be attracted. So there's just the one of me working on the game.

Thanks. I didn't know how to do anything sophisticated with the camera (my grandfather's), but some things are still pretty no matter what.

While I was there it snowed twice, and I went down to see the lake both times. This photo is from the second time, and unfortunately the first time was prettier (if you can believe that). It was only when it snowed again that it occurred to me that I had no photos at all, and I might want one of the lake. I had never seen a beach in the snow before, and indeed the contrast is amazing.
