Holy Smokes! It's like Mad Max or Fallout, amazing. It looks like a photographers dream.
I remember when the bombs went off in London some years ago and my girlfriend was down there with some friends. They stayed inside, and I don't mean this to sound insensitive, but because London is typically so loud, oppressive and unrelenting there was a side of me that wanted to be outside witnessing a bustling city in stasis, peaceful and quiet.

A few pictures from my short vacation in Zeeland last week:
This gull was cleaning its paw whilst flying: A small street in Veere: A big ship, illuminated by the sunset: The last picture is not for the faint-hearted, so I will only post a link to it here. It shows the remains of a rabbit I found in the sand near the beach. Rabbits have a set of extra teeth behind their front teeth, that show nicely on the picture. It's almost impossible to get a live rabbit to show them to you, so here they are. |

Some holiday pics
Some tourists who haven't moved in years. I swear they are getting hungry by now. Home away from home. It was fun going straight up the climb on Universals new coaster while listening to Sabotage by the beastie Boys. Checking out the views in Animal Kingdom Elephant

Hey Lucien
where is this location? I don't recognize it. Sorry if you mentioned it somewhere else, I haven't been much online lately.

No, they're very interesting creatures. Not scary or slimy at all. Check out their Wikipedia page.

In science class (biology) with my youngest students we build homes for woodlice. The homes have different rooms that are dark and moist, dark and dry, light and moist and light and dry to see which environment they prefer. It's great fun until all the woodlice escapes and we have to chase them through the classroom.

Hey, the one on the picture escaped too. I had him in an aquarium with no lid on. The sponge you see in the background was moist, and there was also some moist moss in the aquarium. So I thought I had created a good environment for hem. I was quite sure the woodlouse would not be able to climb the glass wall, but he could and he was gone the next day.

whoah, that is a very good close up! So sharp!
Funny how it is hard to recognize something that usually is much smaller than the way it is on a picture. Only after reading it is a zipper it started to make sense

Yesterday I was at the Zoom Experience: a photo convention in Utrecht. I shot some nice pictures there:
You see the guy think: "She's actually pretty heavy!" and then, as I already told in the Splurges thread, I suddenly bought a flash. Here is Klaas, illuminated by the new flash: Last edited by tsa; 11-01-2009 at 01:25 PM. Reason: Added another picture. |
