The pictures I showed here were taken with a Nikon D90 with the 18-105 mm kit lens.
Edit: you can check the EXIF data on Flickr. Just click on the picture and all data will be made available for you. |

What do you mean exactly? I learned by experience, just by trying things out and making lots and lots of pictures. It took me 6 years before I knew I wanted a DSLR. I started with a simple Canon camera. Although it was simple, you could set everything by hand. Later I bought a better camera with 10x zoom. That was a lot of fun. Eventually I grew out of that camera too, and I bought the Nikon. It certainly is an expensive camera, but it is worth the money.

Kinderdijk is simply awe-inspiring. I could sit there for months, just looking at the windmills...
And I love the rainy, cloudy sky up above. You captured an autumn-y feeling very well, tsa...

Thanks Andrea. And I'm sorry, I seem to have destroyed the pictures of the museum...

A few previews. Unfortunately it seems that all the 55 pictures I uploaded were for some reason reduced to a very small size... I'm currently very annoyed with Photobucket for a number of reasons. I guess I'll have to upload them again at some point. Oh well...

They are all quite good, but the second, fourth and fifth one are very good. Pity about the purple fringing in the fifth one, but that is something that can't really be helped.

I'm in the process of uploading all the pictures again, this time with the usual 800x600 (or is it 600x800? ) size. I'll post more pics but I'll try not to spam with pictures. It'll be a moment though, Photobucket isn't the quickest uploader...
BTW, I really like that first windmill pic, tsa. A great atmosphere (Edit): All righty then! First of all, here's the previous pictures, in bigger size: http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...ized/001-1.jpg http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...ized/044-1.jpg (the fir) http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...ized/152-1.jpg (the flower) http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...ized/194-1.jpg (the piano) http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...DSC00949-1.jpg (the cathedral) I guess I'll start chronologically, so here's continuing with the theme of the last pic (from a cathedral in Barcelona, where I was last Easter). First, more from the cathedral: http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...DSC00950-1.jpg a stained-glass window: http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...DSC00953-1.jpg And another one: A night view from the "outskirts" (not really, but just outside and above the central areas (it's surrounded by mountains): http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...DSC00954-1.jpg The statue of Columbus, amond other things (a large view, close from the previous picture): http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...DSC00944-1.jpg And a nice street view: http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...DSC00931-1.jpg And (lacking better pictures), inside Camp Nou: http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...DSC00894-1.jpg Now, on to some random pics... A narrowly lit tree stump: http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...DSC00629-1.jpg Some pics I took during a wonderful sunset, though unfortunately I didn't really have a clear view (so there's stuff in the way, but I'm sure you won't sue me) First of all, here's the usual blurry vision (not of the sunset): http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...ized/282-1.jpg Here's stuff from the opposite side of the sunset (at slightly different times). First of all, ones with a sunset rainbow (kinda changes the appearance ): http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...ized/252-1.jpg http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...ized/254-1.jpg And some more (without said rainbow): http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...ized/251-1.jpg http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...ized/255-1.jpg http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...ized/273-1.jpg Here's stuff of the actual sunset, from the earlier stages: http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...esized/240.jpg (most narrow, but I like the edges) And more (going later, and without the borders): http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...ized/263-1.jpg http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...ized/264-1.jpg http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...ized/265-1.jpg http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...ized/266-1.jpg And getting later: http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...ized/243-1.jpg OK, intermission. Coffee and pastries in the lobby... Last edited by UPtimist; 09-02-2009 at 08:58 AM. |

Your rainbow:
Turns to this after a little fumbling with Gimp: I guess a more experienced fmbler can make the colors better and still have the rainbows stand out. Edit: I do like your night pictures! Hoe do you do that? Last edited by tsa; 09-02-2009 at 09:40 AM. |

@ UPtimist: the footprint photo is great. It seems like it's taken straight out of an horror movie. Great atmosphere!

Wow, these are gorgeous. I've never really seen windmills up close, , but they look so beautiful, tranquil and reminds me of those "old times" I wish I were in.

I can tell you that they are not at all tranquil when they work Fantasy! You have to watch out for the blades, and inside it's a lot of groaning and creaking. They were high-tech machines in the 1700s, especially these water pumps. Difficult to build and maintain.
