Congrats! Nothing like a new baby (not that I've had one of my own, but who doesn't appreciate the beauty in that?).

Hey, it wasn't that hard. Pretty much all I had to do was get a computer science degree and live in Vancouver.

She looks very cute, thanks for showing the picture to us.
I can see that Olivia will grow up to be a real beauty.

My current client is an international wind turbine manufacturer called Vestas. It has wind turbines installed all over the globe. Last week I got the chance to actually climb one (70 meter), and enjoy the view:
It was a bit hazy, unfortunately. --Erwin

Yeah, I know Vestas. What do you do for them?

Thanks. It was a nice experience! Previously, I had no idea you could walk inside the nacelle, and even walk on the roof! From a distance it seems like there's no room inside that thing.
Trum, I'm developing business applications for Vestas. I'm also involved in a worldwide SAP implementation project, which will end in March 2009. So I'm going to be with them for quite a while. --Erwin

Not like them!
|
I'm continually trying to force myself to work on my tiny little game. It's not going so inspiring-ly. I'm also doing a painless and silly little database entry job. And I'm playing a lot of games on my Wii, and I'm watching through the show House (which I've just gotten hooked on) and I'm reading Spider-Man comics from the 80's. I'm still composing music, though maybe not as frequently as before. Still, I think my latest piece is pretty darn good.

Here are two more. The first picture shows more of the roof, and the second one was taken from below. I hope you like them. --Erwin

Cool, I never knew you could walk on the roof of these things. Do they shut it off before you go up there, and if not, do the blades make a lot of noise?
When I'm at my parent's place in Huizen we sometimes go to the Flevopolder to play tourist. The windmills there are probably even bigger than the one you were up. Every time I'm in the Flevopolder it seems there are more windmills there. |

Yes, they shut them off. Safety regulations are very strict. I had to wear a harness, and when on the roof you're connected to the railing on both sides.
I didn't know you could walk on the roof either. I was also surprised how much room there is inside the nacelle. You can walk up straight in these things! There's a ladder AND a lift in the "pole" to take you up. --Erwin
