Happy Birthday, land of the beautiful Wormsie!
But Scott, you went off on a rather long sabbatical from this community only to come back to post this? Surely you must have some kind of interesting tale otherwise?

Yay for our good old lady who turns 90 years old today.
I'm just visiting my folks home to eat some food and for dessert we have traditional rice porridge. We have this thing every independence day, whole family comes together again to celebrate and eat, hehee

This reminds me, I met someone from Lappeenranta on Tuesday, maybe I should take this opportunity to impress him with my knowledge of Finnish history, hehe.

Living under the Czar couldn't have been that bad now, could have it?
Anyway, happy birthday country-that-was-freed-by-the-Bolsheviks (and later had to defend itself from them... nice job of it too.)!

The way I understood it from the book we read in my English class, the Czar spent his time there building boats. Or maybe that was Sweden? It might have been a different Czar, too. -
