Samurai Jack - OMG!
I know many of you know, but you know... I must share!
You know who Gendy Tartakovsky is? Yes, he is the mind and hand that created the hilarious Dexter's Laboratory. The very same show that entertained me through my elementary and high school times (and it still does). Well, I've heard that he decided to do something else, something different, something fresh and unique. And boy, did he suceed! I've watched my first episode just yesterday. I was charmed. There was no dialogue for first fifteen minutes of the show just simple story told through visually and aesthethically striking images with the ambient of very atmosperic sounds and music. The cinematic panoramas and cuts were really something I wouldn't expect from a traditional cartoon. Jack Into Cutting Edge Animation About Samurai Jack Official Samurai Jack

High style, no substance. A sort of Kill Bill before Kill Bill.

Gendy Tartakovsky is god... no, really.
I still think Dexter's Laboratory is his best work (and along with Spumco's Ren&Stimpy one of the best cartoon shows). Samurai Jack is visualy absolutely one of the most stunning TV cartoons to date. It has STYLE. That being said, however, i agree with Kingzjester. It certainly is style over substance. It can be very entertaining, but most of the time it lacks any stronger story/point and so doesn't come close to Dexter as whole (with exception of a few episodes). Still, it would be unfair to say it's not good... it's just not amazing. |

I agree with Kingz and Igor. It does have an amazing style, but the repeating element where he finds a way to return back in time every episode but can't for some reason got boring before I finished watching my second episode.
That said, I prefer watching it over most of the other dreadful stuff that passes as cartoon series these days. |

It's nowhere near as complicated as C or C++. It just uses basic programming precepts, like if, else, while etc. And as for your inventory question, yes, you can. You can essentially do ANYTHING in AGS, with a little effort.
As for Igor's game, get it here (temporarily, at least.)

It's a mix of dexter's lab and futurama, but the humor is so weird & twisted, try to see it sometime Oh and samurai jack is verrrry interesting indeed |

Thanks for posting link AGA
PD was actually more of a testing polygon (to learn AGS scripting, etc.) than a game... no real story (that little there is of it, it's so cliche it hurts) and there's even one poor excuse for a puzzle, heh As for inventory- AGA said it best, you can do practically anything you want in AGS and the best part is, it's *much* easier than C, C++ Last edited by Igor; 02-27-2004 at 10:29 AM. |
