Buy t-shirts on threadless.com !
What? SPAM? Well, it's from me, so it can't be, right? Listen...
A while ago I totally fell in love with threadless.com. It's an ongoing design competition in which anyone can submit potential t-shirt designs. There's a few hundred every month. Everyone can rate the designs, and one or two are chosen each month for a limited printing (about 150 shirts). They cost 15 bucks, and even a lot less if you order now, cause they have a "we're moving" sale. So basically you have really cool-looking, community-rated tshirt designs, that are pretty exclusive (only 150 made), and it's not expensive at all. Why am I telling you this? Well, if you click the link below, and place an order, I'll get MONEY. That's right, YOU can make ME rich by ordering on threadless.com right now! http://www.threadless.com/?streetteam=Technitai Alternatively, you can place an order and fill in "Technitai" as your referrer. This will ALSO get me credits to buy more tshirts of my own! Wheeee! Share the love! Or something. OK, so that was the pitch. Now buy stuff. |

OK you rule. Good pick
BTW I so hate the fact that this one was all out of stock when I wanted to order it It's so awesome. Usually "statement" tshirts are lame but this one is just ... wow. I have the original image as my desktop bg now. |

That's Jomanda
No seriously, I think she's one of those 'healers' that can cure you from, for example, cancer by just rubbing you on your back. Of course you'll have to cough up some $$$ to be miraculously saved from such a disease. --Erwin

I thought it was quite good too; I like the simple statement that we worship at the alter or consumerism, even if it wasn't what the artist intended. And if it is Jomanda then it's the ultimate in consumerism.
But I've never heard of Jomanda before, and when I did a quick search all I found was some stuff about some crackpot screwing people out of money. She doesn't seem that well known that she'd even inspire a t-shirt

Heh! Jomanda is a Dutch alternative healer who up until a few years ago used to heal people en masse in big convention halls and such. She's now more of a media icon. I say she's full of shit. I read something like she's currently being prosecuted for convincing a well-known Dutch TV presenter to not have scientific medical help to treat her cancer but to only consult her, or something. Anyway, that woman died, and it's all weird.
P.S. My aunt does alternative healing and greatly admires Jomanda. She's jokingly refered to as "the witch" in our family. |
