Casual Food Porn
So a friend decides to start sending me images of the dinners he's been making, and the shots are AWFUL! It's not so much that he takes the shot from polar right above a freakin' plate--the color is all wrong. It is quite unappetizing. Purple onions? Snot covered mushrooms? No thanks.
So I put together a gallery of some (a small slice of) my casual food photography and sent it to him as an example of how easy it is to do right. As long as I went to effort, I thought I'd share the gallery with you, which you can view here. It's all hand held, on-camera flash, casually shot. I do have studio lighting and have taking some studio-type food shots, but I purposely left them out of this gallery. Enjoy. Does anyone else have any food porn they'd like to share?

It's good to know that you're teaching others about proper lighting in photography. As a fan of food and art, bad lighting bothers me.
And you're gonna have to tell me where that pizza is from, and what restaurant in Seattle is serving bone marrow? |

Dear Lord, whatever that is, I want it NOW (and it's like 2 o'clock in the morning...)
Do I have food pr0n on my hard drive? Well I found this, for what it's worth. This pic is reaaaally old, and the food tasted quite good, that's all that matters, right? As far as I can remember it did, that is, those must be like years old. Proof can be found in picture #2. Do you see the drool running from the corner of my mouth? Well I don't either.. uh, never mind.

The bone marrow was from another private dinner. Very few of those shots were from restaurants. Quote:
Your #2 shot: Perfect geek, eating handy food next to the opened PC--love it! By the way, in that shot, you look at less like Norman Bates-like than you do in your avatar.

Digital, post-processed for appealing color cast.

Bull's eye. Talking about adverts, I'm suddenly eight years old again, jeez they could show this in cinema again like they used to and sell millions of Nogger Choc®s with it.. Retro's still the shite and this is like the ultimate cheesy feel good ad of the 80s. Watch out for those awesome cuts during that break, shortly before that sax solo kicks in! A-fucking-mazing.
