Default The best comedy series?

I think it's Coupling. I just bought the whole series on DVD and it's really good.

I've got three choices that I can't pick between: The Simpsons (earlier seasons), Seinfeld, and Married...with Children.

Red Dwarf! Especially series 3 through 6-ish. An unbeatable combination of intelligent science fiction and split-yer-sides laughter.

Is Seinfeld any good, by the way?
I've only seen the one with the masturbation challenge.

This show is shown on daily basis here over and over. I find it hilarious. But my favourite comedy series is Will & Grace, mostly for the Karen Walker and Jack McFarland characters.

I really really don't like Seinfeld! I found the humor to be pretty bland, boring, not funny etc.

Oh, I also disliked all the characters...

Seinfeld is fun, in the sense that it dwelves a bit more into the psychology and insanity of a loser in the form of George Costanza and the wackiness of Kramer, or the superficiality of Elaine. Jerry is kind of pretty generic, but the show as a whole is pretty fun.

Hardly a comedy but Shatner steals the show when they decide to alleviate some tension with his antics. I like comedy that's violent on you, makes you think, while at the same time is just stupid and nonsensical, a bit like Family Guy or Bill Hicks' comedy routines. I like League of Gentlemen because it fetches a lot of references to horror movies and builds a grotesque comedy on that. Watch it, it's pure gold, I placed a link above to one of the best (IMO) moments the show had to offer. I still cry laughing everytime

Usually I'm not really all THAT much into all these tightly rehearsed little supposed_to_make_you_laughs, however, "Married With Children", MAN!
