Not a series as such, but it is on TV: The Daily Show. Also Dead Ringers and Bremner Bird and Fortune, or specifically: Between Iraq and a Hard Place.

I'll second Coupling, Scrubs and Third Rock from the Sun. Frasier also pretty good but I've not watched it as much so I never really got invested in the characters.

League of Gentlemen is crazy.

I also like Fraiser (although it isn't as good as Coupling). I've never heard of League of Gentlemen but that clip sure was funny so I will check it out.

I never really gotten into Blackadder except for the New Years Eve special which was really funny. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0212579/

Oh yeah, Blackadder! You could make a good case for Blackadder Goes Forth, in particular, as the best comedy series of all time.

Arrested Development is a clear favorite among more recent fare. It's endlessly clever, slightly absurd and consistently hilarious.

Coupling was OK, and I quite enjoyed Moffat's earlier series (Press Gang and Chalk... I see he also wrote the recent Dr Who episode "Blink", which a friend of mine insisted I must watch), but I thought it got a bit tedious to have a show where nearly every single joke was about sex. Who really wants a more dirty-minded Friends?

Various dramedies should also get a mention, such as The West Wing, Gilmore Girls and Weeds. They may not bring out many guffaws, but they can be very amusing.

+1 for The Daily Show. It often leaves me in tears. Also, the Colbert Report.

Other fav comedies: Ren & Stimpy, The Tick (both versions), Kids in the Hall, SNL (though I haven't watched it for years).

Family Guy
Aqua Teen Hunger Force

George Lucas at the Convention

Classic stuff.

Though the first series is a completely different programme.

Man, I love Gilmore Girls! Too bad there won't be a season 8

Emily: You were on the phone?
Richard: Long distance.
Lorelai: God?
Richard: London.
Lorelai: God lives in London?
Richard: My mother lives in London.
Lorelai: Your mother is God?
Richard: Lorelai...
Lorelai: So, God *is* a woman.

I've been watching some of the old "Comic Strip Presents..."

Quite funny, if a little weird at times.

The sexjokes are the whole point (especially when they're hilarious which they were in every single episode IMO). Who wants the series Friends at all? It sucks!

Seconded.

Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Entourage, Daily Show/Colbert Report, Scrubs, Futurama/early Simpsons, Get Smart, all runners-up.

Arrested Development I could appreciate for doing something a bit refreshing but I never really found it laugh out loud funny... except for maybe the occasional "I've just made a huge mistake".

Jeff is awesome. You wonder why he works in an office and doesn't instead pursue a degree in sociology or something and make documentaries Desmond Morris style: "Here the animal "man" can be seen exceeding the nudity buffer..."

The fourth series wasn't the same without him. Sorta picks up towards the end, but still not as good as the first three.

I'm with you, Jeff's the man. Nudity buffer, melty man, captain subtext, naked rights, ect. The best thing is that he is always right about everything he says. That he formulates it funny is just an extra plus.

Plus he got all the best lines. It's almost like the writers came up with bizarre lines for him and then tried to engineer situations for him to use them.

I've always liked Frasier and Cheers.

But two of my most favourite comedy shows are propably Men Behaving Badly, the original UK version and Married with children. Al Bundy is a tv legend.

I love comedy shows, that's mostly what I watch.

My favourite sitcoms/comedy dramas:

Absolute Power (Radio) (Stephen Fry, John Bird)
Blackadder (Rowan Atkinson, Tony Robinson, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Tim McInnerny)
Freaks and Geeks (Linda Cardellini, James Franco, Jason Segel, Seth Rogen, Busy Phillips, Samm Levine, Martin Starr)
Futurama (Billy West, John DiMaggio, Phil LaMarr)
Sinchronicity (Jemima Rooper)
Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place (Ryan Reynolds, Nathan Fillion)
Undeclared (Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Loudon Wainwright III)
Weeds (Mary-Louise Parker, Justin Kirk)

Non-drama:
The Daily Show (Jon Stewart)
The Colbert Report (Stephen Colbert)
Bremner, Bird, and Fortune (...)
A Bit of Fry and Laurie (...)
This is David Lander (Stephen Fry)
The Now Show (Hugh Dennis)
I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue (Humphrey Lyttelton)
Mark Thomas Comedy Product (...)
The Mary Whitehouse Experience (Rob Newman, David Baddiel, Hugh Dennis)
Mock The Week (Dara O'Briain)
Nevermind the Buzzcocks (Simon Amstell, Phill Jupitus, Bill Bailey)
