Post anything you want here about eBay. Are you selling something new that might interest others on this site? Want to brag about a sale or purchase you did well on? Or bitch about a sale or purchase you got ripped off on? Maybe you know of some rare adventure games for sale? Rare DVDs? Rare anything? Or maybe not even rare, but just something cool. Or maybe you hate eBay and you want to post about how bad it sucks. This is the eBay thread about anything people want to post about.

I've been doing some selling recently on eBay. This is my first time as a seller, but I've been a buyer since 1998. Anyway, I just did a search on these forums for eBay threads, and there are plenty, but I couldn't find one like this one. So I created it. Hope it doesn't die instantly upon arrival...

I've been tantalizingly glossing over Gamecube prices on eBay lately. $30 for a Gamecube seems like a pretty....nice thing.

I am amazed how cheap used books are on eBay. Not that books you'd (I'd) need for studies, but the fairy tales and classics. I recently bought two books by Michael Ende for like five euroes - very good print, great edition of "Die Unendliche Geschichte" (one of the early ones).

I put in a load of lowball bids on about half a dozen Ellery Queen novels, assuming I'd probably be outbid on most of them. And I got them all! So I'm happy. And there's a Ngaio Marsh in there as well.

Also got Roller Coaster Tycoon Gold (with the add-ons), The Feeble Files, and some copyright-free music that hasn't arrived yet. The music is intended to be backgrounds and sound effects for various things when I get the time together to do some proper programming.

At the moment I'm selling a few bits and pieces. It would be more, but eBay caught me by surprise with the announcement of a 10p day, and these were the only things I had ready to post.

I'm strictly a buyer, mostly older adventure games, sometimes DVDs and CDs too. In fact, I've even bought a couple of games from other AG members (you know who you are!

)

A few games like Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis and Discworld Noir I know I'll forever be outbid on unless I make some insanely high max bid!

Isn't it usually a case of "How badly do I want this item???"

And don't get me started on outrageous shipping charges to Canada!

UNBELIEVABLE!

I am SOOOO pissed off at eBay right now, I can barely sit still!

I had a camcorder for sale that was doing AWESOME. The camcorder included extras, such as a large, silver Sony carrying case designed for that exact camera model, and an Optex anamorphic lens (which is a very expensive bonus).

Anyway, it was a 7 day auction. There was only 1 day and 5 hours left. Bidding was already up to $1,009 and set to go much higher, I had 58 watchers on this auction and 450 views! It was going SOOOO well!

And eBay CANCELLED my auction because they, in their fucked up wisdom, deemed that my shipping costs were "excessive" at $49.99. WHAT?! Are they not aware that this is a large, heavy item that will be shipping in a much LARGER silver case? It makes me even more furious that other people selling the same item, MINUS the case, are asking $45 or so for shipping!

This makes NO sense. And no matter what eBay does to try and apologize later, they can't give me back my auction that was kicking so much ass. All of the bidders have received cancellation notices, with no explanation to save my reputation I assume. eBay had the nerve to say that my shipping costs were a method to "Circumvent eBay fees"!!! Ugh... Screw this.

I have more games on EBay. Some are ending in the next couple of days, and a few have a little longer. But, there are some good ones that are still being put up for auction.

Of the games posted now, they all come in the box with all the manuals and most even have the advertisements that came with the games still in the box. There are such games as:
Blade Runner, Outcast, The Last Express, Spycraft, Traitors Gate, Tony Tough, Safe Cracker, all three of the Atlantis games, Syberia, Broken Sword 3, Black Dahlia, Titanic:Adventure Out of Time, Morpheus and Blackstone Chronicles. There are more, but I didn’t want to place such large posts as before. Good luck, and hurry before they are all gone. 

But, there are some good ones that are still being put up for auction. Of the games posted now, they all come in the box with all the manuals and most even have the advertisements that came with the games still in the box. There are such games as: Blade Runner, Outcast, The Last Express, Spycraft, Traitors Gate, Tony Tough, Safe Cracker, all three of the Atlantis games, Syberia, Broken Sword 3, Black Dahlia, Titanic:Adventure Out of Time, Morpheus and Blackstone Chronicles.
