Default Eurovision

Oh gawd, The UK has selected another novelty song....

Oh well, I can always help the wife cheer for Spain instead.

What has your country chosen for Eurovision this year?

Please, not the talentless hacks dressed as cabin crew!

Once again our country will be shamed.

When Wogan announced Cyndi as the winner I was happier.

What song did the UK choose? You hear next to nothing about this contest here in the US.

Aren't all countries involved shamed?

Actually, we had a pretty good singer this time. A german Jazz musician. He sings everything in German too: Roger Cicero.

I am *so* glad they didn't choose those stupid "Monrose" (okay, they're not that bad, considering they were cast. But I much prefer Roger Cicero. Much more original).

This one - Flying the Flag (for you) by Scooch. Ignore the video that somebody else has come up with - it doesn't at all convey how camp the real performance is.

Hrrg.. Norway is competing with a salsa - Latin rip-off song ("Ven a bailar conmigo").
Famous artist here in Norway, lots of flashy backgrounds, feminine male dancers with bare chests, short dresses, and a change of dress behind big feathers..

Heard it before?

Edit: You can hear it here: http://www1.nrk.no/nett-tv/klipp/221749

Hee what. I don't know who votes for this stuff. :~

I was hoping for everyone to be jumping on the "novelty monster metal" bandwagon, but no such luck. Never mind - they'll see. THEY'LL SEE.

Say, where have you been, Marqusard? Haven't seen you around in a bit.

Sorry, off-topic post. I don't really know anything about the subject of the discussion.

Oh, just too preoccupied with school and work to post. I still habitually drop in to check out some threads now and then though.

Back on topic, I wonder what the Serbian Kazakh offering is like this year. Utter and complete shite, I suspect.

And the finals will be held in Finland, damn...

Oh well, hopefully we will get the good old zero points again.

German Entry

What do you think of it?

At least I *think* it is Jazz.

It makes me cringe. I don't know how they can perform it without dying of embarrassment.
