I say you go to the Bluesfest. It's good to be outside.

Shall I post new pictures in the Photo thread or shall I buy new glasses?

bulldog 07-17-2010 12:48 PM

If you didn't buy new glasses, would you be able to see what pictures you posted on the picture thread? :)

Mash every time. Especially if it come with something like baked beans you can mix in with it. :9~

By the way, the cable confusion arose more from naming conventions. Dish cable would normally just be called satellite TV over here. Not sure about the position with the other sort of cable. I don't know anyone over here that got TV that way. (normally satellite dish or a roof-top aerial for terrestrial channels)

Search out older games for an aging computer or buy a new one to play the latest stuff.

tsa 07-18-2010 12:42 AM

I usually search for older stuff until a game comes out that I REALLY want to play, and then I buy a new computer.

3D or 2D movies?

bulldog 07-18-2010 08:45 AM

Thanks for the Step :D

2D......... the 3D hype is not for me.

old rocking chair or Glider rocker ?

tsa 07-18-2010 10:08 AM

I'm with you on the 3D thing Bullsie. It's not even real 3D because you can't focus on blurry things. I'm curious how long the hype will last.

The old-fashioned rocking chair is more comfortable, so I choose that one. I'll put something under it to protect the floor though.

Android or iOS?

Jelena 07-19-2010 09:20 AM

Since I don't know what iOS is I choose to believe it's the Greek island Ios. ;)

Ios, Not that I like to party, but I've never been to Greece.

Sauna in the summer or sauna in the winter?

tsa 07-19-2010 09:46 AM

iOS is the operating system the iPhone runs. Android is the operating system Google phones (and a lot of others) run.

I'm too young to die, so sauna ever for me ;).

Sex before or after marriage, and why?

Jelena 07-19-2010 10:02 AM

Sex when you have a relationship. Because I think it belongs in a healthy, romantic relationship.

Not necessary to wait until you're married. (Heck, I had two children before we married. :))

Beer or wine in the summer?

Hammerite 07-19-2010 10:06 AM

I'd probably be seen drinking water, as I don't drink. I also want to express my views that waiting after marriage to have sex would be a terrible, terrible idea.

You're in a record shop, and you have two choices: an accessible record that you will probably like, or an experimental record that you will either find interesting or absolutely dreadful.

I was alway told to wait until you got married to have sex........... but I'm like Jelena, I waited until I was in a relationship (that I thought) would lead to marriage. Unfortunately he had other ideas. But then I waited again until I meet Matt :D

Now on to Hams question........

I would buy one that I would probably like.

massage at home or at a shop ?

tsa 05-15-2011 11:23 PM

At home, by someone I know well.

Formula 1 or rally sport?

Maquisard 05-16-2011 12:35 AM

Rally. The cars aren't as fast, but the experience is more visceral, dirty, and accessible. Not a big fan of racing either way though.

What's better, averaging 18 hours of daily waking time for a lifetime and being kinda tired all the time, or averaging 14, and being well rested? It's a lifespan vs life-quality question, as the 18 h option pretty much makes the part of your life that matters nearly a whole third longer. Unless you figure out lucid dreaming, and sleeping becomes just as awesome as getting shit done.

haptsonir 05-16-2011 02:35 AM

Of the two choices, sleep. It allows you to make the best use of your waking time and, ultimately, might even prolong it. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/2129578.stm

Eliot or Shelley?

tsa 02-23-2012 01:54 PM

I don't know them both so Eliot.

Ajax or Manchester United?

Trumgottist 02-23-2012 02:28 PM

I have no need for Manchester United, but I guess some Javascript could be useful. (Or maybe you're talking about the cleaning substance? That could be good too.)

Fried food or Stephen Fry?

tsa 02-23-2012 11:53 PM

Stephen Fry is old and he probably tastes like gummi, so I prefer fried food.

Bentley or Rolls Royce?

Intense Degree 02-24-2012 02:46 AM

Bentleys. Can't explain it, there is just something about Bentleys that no other car has, even a roller.

Science Fiction or Fantasy?

TimovieMan 02-24-2012 03:09 AM

Science Fiction - because that allows for both. :D

Is the glass half empty or half full?

Trumgottist 02-24-2012 08:58 AM

Completely empty, but I have a can of water next to it, so I can refill it without any problems.

(That was a literal answer, but it could work pretty well for the metaphorical question too!)

Miles Davis or Michael Brecker?

tsa 02-24-2012 11:02 AM

Who's that second guy?

I choose Miles.

Jazz or blues?

Squinky 02-24-2012 11:34 AM

Yes.

Man or muppet?

Michael Brecker!

One of the biggest sax players ever (often said to be the greatest tenor player since Trane). One of the Brecker Brothers. An incredible musician. But if you didn't know that, I assume that you don't listen to jazz, funk or fusion much, so you probably don't care about that. You have probably still heard him as a studio musician though - for example with Dire Straits (or depending on your tastes Aerosmith, Michael Bolton, James Brown, Quincy Jones, Chaka Khan, John Lennon, Pat Metheny, Mark O'Connor, Frank Zappa…).

(But regardless, Miles is never a bad choice.)

tsa 02-24-2012 06:23 PM

You're right: my music listening days are long past. And I never was much interested on the people behind the music anyway.

A muppet of a man, or a very manly muppet, I haven't decided yet.

Kermit or Miss Piggy?

Just had to note that listening to and knowing about/knowing names are a bit different :P Like tsa said, there can be many who listen to a lot of something, but don't necessarily become connoisseurs. Personally I think that I listen to a lot of jazz, but when it comes to names (something which I'm always horrible at), I notice that mainly I only know the classics (Davis, Coltrane, Monk..) - even if I do also listen to contemporary jazz too. Well, there is the occasional contemporary like David Murray (who I assume is also amongst the most-known names of living players) and Ambrose Akinmusire (relatively newcomer).

Or actually, now that I think about it, maybe it's more a matter of, umm, emphasis inside the genre (or rather time periods)? And also when a legendary player dies, they get much more legendary... Bah, I'm getting off the tracks now :D

Anyways, sorry to ramble, do proceed (I've no opinion on muppets, almost never seen any) :) Oh and thanks for the name, I'll have to check out his music :D

True, but when it comes to Brecker, it's not just any name. I maintain that you're unfamiliar with that entire area of jazz if you don't know him. It's like talking about baroque music but not recognising the names Bach and Vivaldi or Mozart and Beethoven in classical. (I don't place any value judgement in that - it's simply an observation.)

And to avoid derailing the thread completely: Kermit.

Morning or late night?

I don't agree although I understand what you mean. But you don't ever have to listen to classical music to know the names Bach, Vivaldi and Mozart, like you never have to listen to pop music to know the names Beatles, Michael Jackson and Madonna.

No.

Paintings or sculptures?

UPtimist 02-25-2012 08:39 AM

Paintings!

Intrigue or mystery?

Spoiler:
P.S. I'm new to this thread, so what's this whole trend of answering with "yes" and "no"? :P

Also very possible :) But also what tsa said :P
Well, this isn't much of an argument from my part :D Then again, I'm not disagreeing with anyone...

Sköll 02-25-2012 05:52 PM

Mystery.

CRT monitor or toaster?

Trunkyo 02-25-2012 08:27 PM

Toaster. Now I'm craving toast again. :P

Salmagundi, Solomon Gundy, Solomon Grundy or Solomon Grundy?

Fantasysci5 02-25-2012 08:28 PM

Al Pacino or Robert DeNiro?

Sköll 02-26-2012 04:07 AM

Al Pacino.

Mosquitoes or serial killers?

Mosquitoes, b/c they don't kill (usually).

Living in the city or the country?

tsa 02-26-2012 09:38 AM

City. I have everything at walking distance from my house here, very convenient.

Porn or horror?

There's a better chance that a porn flick will be at least decent while I haven't seen a good horror movie in a while :9

Beer or Wine? (strange just had a huge dejavu writing that)

Jelena 02-28-2012 10:18 AM

Wine
I absolutely love wine, both red and white. Although red wine suits the time of the year better right now.
(Bummer I can't have any for the stupid antibiotics I'm currently having.)

Queen or Thin Lizzy?
