Aaaargh, noooo, that was horrible. That was one of the few shows corny enough to make me cheer for the villains. |

Lordy, I remember now watching Bravestarr, when I was really too old to watch it. I must have blanked it all out of memory.
As long as we're discussing vintage animated adventures, what was the name of the one with the adventure team who all used big-cat-shaped robot vehicles that all joined together to make one big robot vehicle? Way better than Power Rangers. And let's spend a moment contemplating G-Force, that crappy one where everybody had a bird-shaped spaceship and bird costume. I used to watch MASK every night at about 2 in the morning, catching the syndicated satellite feed. That was pretty cool. And speaking of cool, wow! Thanks for that reminder of Cool McCool. I don't remember anything about it at all, but watching that intro tickled a few synapses somewhere deep in the brain. Definitely used to watch it when I was little, and thought it was, well, cool. And that's precisely what made it so great.

I've never been that big a fan but I even liked the movie. Quote:
Fav cartoon series music ever: Captain Future. Only the Germons were delighted with that though. Hell, nostalgia threads kick mighty butt!

In case anyone might know, what was that italian cartoon with the duck? (not a very good description, I know, although I would probably recognize the intro-theme if I heard it) It was on around 1990.

Heheh. Alfred J. Kwak was awesome.
Even though it had some really strange plot twists going on, very strange things for a childrens show.

It was Voltron. Messing up cartoon shows is bad enough, but a Peyton Manning fan to boot? It's a double whammy! |

Shame on you! I quote myself: Captain Future: Captain Future is a space anime, based on the series of pulp fiction stories by Edmond Hamilton. Captain Future solves problems not by sheer firepower and stuff like that, but rather uses his head and brains. The stars. From left to right: Joan Landor, Captain Future. In the background: Ken Scott, Otho, and Grag. Over the head you can see Professor Simon Wright the living brain, and to the top left you can see their ship, the "Comet". Otho the Android, "Captain Future"/Curtis Newton, and Grag the Robot (And Eek his pet) Two pictures from the intro. Ulysses 31: Yumi, Ulysses, Telemachus, Nono The crew of the Odyssee, in supspended (more than literally, as you can see) animation. On the right to Ulysses, you can see Yumi's brother. Yumi, using her telepathic powers. All of them together, Yumi playing her flute. I forgot what the flute did. All of them together again, in spacesuits Numinor, Yumi's brother - During one of the few times that he is not "Hanging out" in the sickbay/freight area. Bebos and Triplos of the Council of Four. Is it just me, or does Triplos remind you of someone else too? The Sirens. Need I say more? Ulysses 31 is as you can see, the story of Odyssee, set in space. Quote:
I didn't really like Alfred Jodocus Kwak, as I never managed to watch it every time, and when I did I couldn't follow the plot because of missing so much. But I loved the introduction, especially the part where he is picked up under his head by the creature with the long claws. -

But she was a girl power figure really. She kicked Eternian evil butt as well. Quote:
Classic stuff. But I think Travisty may be right about them not forming the cat statue. Didn't they only have the Thundertank (made by Panthro not to be confused with Panthera)? Wiki doesn't cover the equipment that well. Let's not forget Cheetara though. Another cartoon pron star in the making. And I'm sure the creators didn't get odd looks saying that at the pitch meeting for the series.

The cat statue was their base, Cat's Lair. The other woman was Pumaira.

Oh, and I can imagine that he didn't get any odd looks at all. And the series was great. Come on, the Odyssee in the 31st century and *IN SPACE*!! -

Hey, not my fault, when some of those series were running, I only had 2 or 3 channels.
And they sure don't look very zany. Do any of them have a character who can belch classical music and eat anything, or a superintelligent rodent, or gangster birds, or an 80 year old woman who loves to blow things up? |
