JustAdventure Site Offline!
I understand that the JA+ Site (& all Forums etc.) will be offline due to a server change until at least next Monday (January 8th 2007).

Hopefully they take this opportunity to change the layout of the home page. It's always a bit cluttered IMO. I like the website though.

Yeah, it looks like the site is trying to spam you in some respect, with all this flashy banners and popups everywhere. Love the site though.

Gotta agree with you guys about the horrendous layout of the mainpage. Other than that, Just Adventure + freakin' rawks!

Some of their reviewers really stink, though. I recall specifically the guy who reviewed Creature Crunch, talking about just how "incredibly rare" and fantastic it was, but how he managed to get ahold of a bunch of copies by chance. Then he just so happened to link to his GameTZ account where he was selling them for $60 a pop.
Guess what? They're on eBay now for like, six bucks. I don't know how they screen their authors, but some of them are just terrible. |

It'll probably be back up soon enough, but if not, you can always shop directly from InteractCD. The JA store is really just an affiliate for Interact, who handles all the processing and shipments.

I don't see it as cluttered as much as I see it as news items and articles remaining active longer before being thrown into the archives. Most sites only show you 4 or 5 items at a time. After that you have to dig around a bit.

It's really strange how JA handle adventure games. Sometimes it's very mainstream (Syberia 2 - "A+" from Ray, who gave MI games Bs and Cs because he "doesn't like 3rd person"; Orient Express - "best adventure of 2006", Bone1 - A+ and so on), sometimes - very hardcore. I got used to it, though AG is imo better in all respects. From the other side, JA has some of the best and some of the worst adventure reviewers in the net..

I've found the site pro-1st person and pro-hardcore puzzles. I'm into adventures 10x more for story and character content.
[quote] Orient Express - best adventure of 2006 [\quote] if the rest of the game is as good as the demo, i might agree with him there actually. I'm really enjoying the game. I've already ordered it from Amazon and Im genuinely excited about playing the full version. However, I agree they have some strange ratings and ideas sometimes. The Dark Eye and GK3, as good as they are, are not one of the 5 greatest adventure games of all time IMO |
